💚 WORLD SU***DE PREVENTION DAY | 10 SEPTEMBER 💚
You are not alone, Our whare is your whare, Our people are your people.
At King Country Lee Gar, we know that behind every statistic is a person, a whānau and a story.
Our kaupapa has been shaped by lived experience, by seeing first-hand what can happen when our tamariki, rangatahi and whānau are struggling and the right support isn't there when they need it.
Too many people reach crisis before anyone realises just how much they have been carrying, we want to change that.
KCLG is more than a gym, we are creating a place where people can belong, connect, kōrero, move, build confidence and feel supported before things reach breaking point.
We believe prevention starts with the small things:
Checking in.
Starting the uncomfortable kōrero.
Listening without judgement.
Creating connection.
Giving people somewhere to go.
Making sure they know someone cares.
Intervention shouldn't only begin when someone is already in crisis. Sometimes it starts with a door that is always open, a training session, a familiar face, a conversation, or simply knowing “these are my people.”
This World Su***de Prevention Day, we want to remind every member of our whānau:
You don't have to carry it alone.
If you need somewhere to go, our doors are open.
If you need someone to talk to, we will listen.
If you're struggling, you still belong here.
Because no one should feel like they have nowhere to turn.
Prevention, Connection, Intervention, Belonging.
