Craters MTB park

Please help share the Craters love!! If you ride in here post a pic with your favorite (maybe new) trail!!! Let's get it cranking!!

Ok folks! It's time to get excited! The park is back open from Saturday 21 October 2023!!! Get your membership sorted (day passes available) and get amongst it!!! Please follow signs and don't cross any tape!!!! Wahooooooooo!!!!!!

Hi all. Insurance for the windfall damage is sorted and we are going to get crews in any day now to start logging... Will keep you updated with progress but still currently closed!!

Cyclone Gabrielle had caused significant tree fall in the park. Bike Taupō are meeting today to make a plan but craters MTB park will be closed until this can be cleared which may take several weeks...
Keep an eye on bike Taupō socials as well...

Taupo's Mt Tauhara completely hidden in a rain shower!! The view after the "zee zee top" climb is stunning in every direction, enjoy the down hill trail "megalicious" from here or continue onto "dier straights" for more views of our geothermal power production!!

If you get it wrong will you get a "spinal Redemption"? Off Colls killer is a little thriller! Not for the faint hearted... When I jumped I f......!! Not all of Craters Mtb park is for the xc crew!!!

If you are looking for a mid week ride you could try the waihaha section of the Great Lake Trail in Taupo. ..

Did you know there is a small waterfall in Craters MTB park ?? From Debs seat, ride down "Mr and Mrs" then onto "mistress" it's a bit narrow so watch the wide bars but a beautiful little hidden stop awaits you...
Want to hire a bike and check it out? Stop in at FourB - Bed Breakfast Biking and Beyond and grab a Scott bike and ask about the waterfall... Grab a coffee after at kefi (next to the big Russian helicopter)
