NZ Māori Golf has had the privilege of working with Golf Australia and PGA of Australia providing cultural guidance and support throughout the planning and delivery of the ISPA Handa Challengers Series tournament held at Royal Auckland GC this week. CChallenger PGA Tour of Australasia
Biggest ngā mihi to Te Wharekura o Manurewa for leading the pōwhiri and setting the tone for the. Your presence grounded the event in tikanga Māori and reminded everyone - players, officials and spectators included, that we stand on whenua with deep history and identity.

A special highlight for NZMGA is the opportunity to deliver a clinic on Friday. Creating space for our local rangatahi to learn about the game and then to go watch some of the big names playing like Kevin Na, Nick Watney, our locals Denzel Ieremia and Jayden Ford and 2025 NZ Open winner, Ryan Peake will be an experience and a half!

Unfortunately, there was a 3 hour rain delay so Mike is off at 5.04pm, not sure how many holes he will get in.

A great week, catching up with old friends and making new ones!

What a great week of golf at Waitangi for our Masters, Golden Girls and rangatahi and corporate day for others 2026 Nationals! Renewed friendships and new ones made (especially our Kiwis abroad) and that's what it's really about. Congratulations to all our winners! C you all next year in Hawkes Bay somewhere!

Whānau we received a few messages around coverage of other grades, we hear you. Our team is all volunteers, and we don't have the resources to keep on top of social media at all courses over the week. But we will look to further tournaments to keep increasing our coverage so you can keep tabs on your whānau on the course!

During a week with plenty of sun and temperatures well over 30 degrees in Te Tai Tokerau, hydrations was important to ensure our whānau could make there way around the course. With Tongariro's support we were able to ensure all players recieve wai at the start and during the round!

Special shout out to team member Geoff Leahey who had run to one of our senior Tāne matchplay finals as well!!
