Most people treat their body like it's working against them. Pain shows up, and it gets fought, ignored, pushed through.

Your body isn’t working against you. It's been trying to tell you something — most of the time people are too busy to stop and listen, until it gets bigger.

That's what testing is for. Finding the problem that’s now underneath and then finding whatever your nervous system actually responds to — checked, not guessed. Sometimes that's a colour most people wouldn't expect. Sometimes it's a sound, a scent, the way you're holding your eyes. Whatever it actually is for you.

And you don't leave with homework you're hoping will work. You leave with homework that already worked — you saw it happen, from the first session, before it's written down for you. That's why it gets done.

If that's the kind of listening your body's been waiting on, I'd love to help you find it.

Baker-Miller pink is one of the most repeated claims in colour therapy.
The original research from the 1970s suggested that a specific shade of pink reduced aggressive behaviour in prison populations. It was referenced widely enough to end up in sports changing rooms, football tunnels, and visiting team locker rooms at major stadiums.
The problem: a proper replication study failed to reproduce the original finding.
When independent researchers tested the same shade under controlled conditions, they couldn't reliably replicate the effect. The original study had methodological problems. The follow-up claims built on a foundation that didn't hold up.
This matters because a lot of colour therapy content cites this as settled fact. It isn't.
It also doesn't mean colour has no physiological effect. Green for pain has a documented retinal pathway and clinical trial data. Violet has a dedicated photoreceptor and a real 10-week human trial that measured sleep quality and blood glucose. Those are different from a 1970s study that failed replication.
The difference is evidence quality. Claims that any one colour produces a universal effect in all people should be questioned, regardless of how often they've been repeated. You are unique, you aren’t one size fits all, so I treat you like that.

Green light is one of the more interesting findings in pain research — and it's worth understanding what's actually been shown, not just the headline.

The detailed pathway — light entering the retina and triggering the release of the body's own natural pain-relieving chemicals — was mapped in animal studies. Separately, human clinical trials with migraine and chronic pain patients have shown a real reduction in pain under green light exposure. Two real pieces of evidence, both pointing the same way.

Green also produces a notably small retinal and cortical response compared to other colours — it doesn't overstimulate the system the way some other wavelengths can.

None of that means green is the right colour for you, though. In testing, green is often one of the first colours that produces a movement improvement — but "often" isn't "always," and individual variation is real and consistent. If your nervous system responds a little better to another colour, well then that becomes your specific recommendation — it's based on how you respond, not the research alone.

Not to mention, it's surprisingly hard to find a good-looking pair of glasses with green lenses 😉

What the research tells you is that the effect is real in some form. What the testing tells you is whether and how it applies to your nervous system specifically.

Has something been limiting you for a while now — the same shoulder aches, the same back pain, the same hip you keep favouring without really thinking about it anymore?

Most approaches look at that specific location. This one also looks everywhere, from connective tissue, to which parts of the brain are being activated using your cranial nerves — including what your visual system is doing. Which colours, which directions your nervous system specifically responds to. Each tested individually against your actual complaint, before and after.

Some people respond strongly to green. Others respond more to a different colour entirely. Some show almost no colour response and the important inputs land somewhere else. There's no way to know in advance — which is why it gets tested, not estimated.

Five sessions. You leave knowing what your nervous system actually responds to.

Full protocol: $595. Referral pricing $476. Single sessions: $130. Taupō and surrounds, mobile.

DM me to find out if this fits what you're dealing with.

Monday conversations are always, "how was your weekend?, what have you been working on in the business this time?" People I work with know I put a lot into what I do.
And, well, this weekend, I've been working heavily with AI to help me put together 36 different playlists.
Why you might ask. - Because in the testing we do during session 2 of the protocol will show you the tiny change a frequency can make to your restriction.
Each frequency tested now has 30 minutes of homework playlists across pop, country, rock and jazz.. I want to make it as easy as I can for you to reduce pain and move better.
Here's what I need from you:
Test: - always without pain
If you need help finding a test - let me know but basically, move the joint, observe where the end point is.
Listen to a frequency: - open https://onlinetonegenerator.com/ and put some headphones on
Listen to frequencies:
C – 261Hz
C #/Db – 277Hz
D – 293Hz
D #/Eb – 311Hz
E – 330Hz
F – 350Hz
F #/Gb – 370Hz
G – 392Hz
G #/Ab – 415Hz
A – 440Hz
A #/Bb – 466Hz
B – 494Hz
While you listen to a frequency record against your last movement (did you get better, get worse or stay the same) - when you find the best frequency you are going to message me for the playlists of that frequency.

This isn't a sales post, it's a here's what I've spent the weekend on - do the test, then test the music to make sure it works for you - if the playlists don't work - my end needs work, if the music in the playlists work and help your movement - happy days and I'm glad I could help!

One of the harder things about nerve pain is how total it can feel.

Not just the location — though that's significant when it's tracking down both legs. It's the sense that the nervous system itself is the problem, and that makes it difficult to know where to start or what you'd even be addressing.

The protocol starts where it always starts — with the specific complaint as the reference point. What the client came in with becomes the baseline everything is tested against.

In this case, by the time we'd completed the protocol, the nerve pain had eased significantly.

Measurably. That's not a guarantee I can make for anyone — individual results are individual — but it was real and it held.

What came after surprised me more than the initial result. She's now three release sessions in and she's enjoying them. Not managing them, not enduring them — finding them genuinely useful and something she looks forward to.

That's the bit that's harder to explain in advance, the bit that's hardest not to make sound like an over claim.

When the nervous system calms rather than braces, the experience of the work changes. The body stops anticipating and starts working with the session instead.

If any sort of pain has been your constant — both sides, one side, or a persistent thread you can't locate, it's time to get in touch, time to get to the route of the issue.

DM me to find out if this approach applies.

When I'm researching colour, frequency, or scent and how they affect the nervous system, I get a lot of ads.

That's just how the internet works. Search for photoreceptors, get served glasses with unverified claims. Search for sound frequency, get served tuning forks with testimonials that don't cite anything.

My approach has always been the same: find the original study. Read the methodology. Check whether what's being claimed matches what was actually measured.

That's not always as straightforward as it sounds. "Green light reduces pain" is real — the retinal pathway is solid, there are clinical trials, the mechanism makes sense. "Baker-Miller pink reduces aggression" gets repeated constantly, but a proper replication study failed to reproduce the original finding. The claim got away from the evidence a long time ago.

What I use in testing, I use because there's either a clear mechanism, real clinical data, or consistent direct observation in my own sessions. And to tell you the truth, I don't care what the data predicts how you should respond... I care about how you actually respond.. I know activating these parts of the brain will work, but everyone's brain is capable of rewiring bits.. So I care about what works for you!

If you're curious about what I'm actually using and why — ask.

I like it and this new process!! A lot.

Some people find me by being referred — by physios, chiros, PTs, Osteos. Some through a partner who attends a class I teach at Studio Two.

I had one client come through exactly that way recently — his wife was at one of my Pilates classes, she mentioned he works in a completely different field himself, and thought he'd find the protocol interesting. He did. He's still coming back for more sessions.

It doesn't matter how you get here. If you were referred, that's $476 instead of $595.

I care about you all. I'll do my best to help you move better and reduce whatever pain you're carrying.

Been referred, or just curious? DM me. John

This isn’t my usual post.

My ex wife has made an ai platform.

At the moment it’s in pilot phase, so it needs people to have a play with it, ask it questions and needs our feedback.

Her share post is below, it’s called walking in wisdom. See how you go 🙏

Wanting to feel better, reduce your pain, speed up your recovery?

I've made a protocol for you, you've probably seen it advertised. It's probably time to stop sitting on the fence.

Whatever's holding you back, unless it's an acute injury, it's rarely only where you feel it. That's why testing goes further than the painful area — you aren't lots of connected systems, you are one whole.

We test your lines of connective tissue to see where the knots and niggles are coming from. Smell, hearing, eyesight, muscles of the face, even taste can change how a restriction holds, because what gets triggered in your brain affects what moves in your body.

Testing checks each one against how you actually move right now, so nothing gets missed just because it seemed unrelated.

Five sessions. You leave with homework built from what genuinely changed something in your own body.

Full protocol:
Referral Pricing $476 (20% off the full protocol, $595).
Family rate for two adults: $820. ($410 each)
3 People: $975. ($325 each)
Got a group that you'd like to do together (football, netball, bowls, running club etc.) reach out with how many and I can help design a package to help your training and recovery be more effective.

Single sessions: $130.

DM me and I'll tell you if this is a fit.
