Sarah Wraight, our road safety coordinator, loves her e-scooter and she’s not the only one.

“I see people commuting to work on them, collecting their kids from school and just enjoying our lakefront pathway.”

“It’s a fun way of getting around town, better for the environment than jumping in the car, and using it eases traffic congestion.”

Worrying scooter behaviour and community concerns have pushed Sarah and the road safety team to start offering free e-scooter safety workshops.

“There have been a lot of near misses. It was hair-raising to hear some of the behaviour being reported.”
