Congratulations to Chris & Karen McKechine behind Qudira: their Astek Quatermaster foal who picked up a Merit at the NZWA tour.
They’ve now bred three Quatermaster foals (one each) because the type just works so well for them.

✨ NZ Warmblood Tour – Merit Award ✨

Next on Day Two was Qadira, a chestnut filly presented by Karen and Chris McKechnie.

Qadira is by Aztec Quartermaster, out of the thoroughbred mare Mary Poppins xx, who is by Keeper / Kaapstad. She was presented in Register 2, bred with dressage in mind.

She received a score of 78.75%, earning a Merit Award.

A straightforward filly with a great nature, and a good result for her breeders.

Huge congrats to Lisa Brown owner of Disco Inferno, on receiving an Excellence at the NZWA tour yesterday.

Great to see SWE Dempsey represented with such a standout youngster 👏🏻🎉

✨ A fairy-tale setting and a very first rosette ✨
One of the real highlights of being on tour is not just the horses — but the beautiful properties we get to visit along the way.
And Lisa Brown’s stunning Taupo setup is absolutely up there with the best of them. Immaculate arenas, rolling paddocks, and a backdrop that looks like it’s straight out of a storybook.

Presented today was the elegant Register 1 dressage filly Disco Inferno.

By SWE Dempsey, and out of the Stud Book mare Discotheque SW (Dancier × Wolkentanz I), she combines modern European dressage blood with lovely type and balance.

She earned:
• 81.5% for Conformation
• 79% for Movement
• Excellence Award overall

A beautifully put-together filly with presence, expression, and quality — and here she is pictured with her very first rosette. 💙

Another strong result for the dressage-bred youngsters on Day Four, and certainly one to watch as she develops.

Sometimes the setting and the horse just match perfectly.
