Our purpose is to PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE & DEVELOP swimming at all levels. Based at Methanex Bell Block Aquatic Centre & Todd Energy Aquatic Centre, NP.
Aquabladz New Plymouth is the result of a merger between Aquabladz Taranaki Swimming Club & New Plymouth Aquatics Swimming Club in August 2013. Aquabladz NP caters for competitive and non-competitive members. It works in synergy with Team Aquabladz which is the competitive swim squad run by head coach Sue Southgate. We also work closely with the learn to swim school BWF Aquatics managed by high performance coach Donna Bouzaid.

This week is a time to give a big ‘Thank You’ to all the wonderful parents, family members and friends who support our club by volunteering themselves in supporting our swimmers. Our club can not do what it does for our swimmers without you all.

Following significant feedback from the community over the past 24 hours, Swimming NZ has extended entries for the 2026 New Zealand Secondary School Swimming Championships until 11:59pm on Monday 6 July. Late entries will not be accepted.
The original entry date adjustment, which was stated in updated meet information published on 16 April, was made in line with the direction provided by School Sport NZ. After carefully considering community feedback, we have decided to provide additional time for students to complete and submit their entries.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming swimmers from across the country to the competition.

Our fabulous Emma and Melia had an amazing time representing Swimming Taranaki Inc and Aquabladz at the New Zealand Swimming Championships held in Auckland last week.
