Taupo Masters Swimmers

Good luck to Conny, Carol, Mynette, and Neil supporting, for Rangitoto swim Sunday. Forecast looks good!

Just sharing a great double-banger from the weekend before last.

On Saturday, the Cathedral Cove swim from Hahei that was once again enjoyed by several of our members.

And on Sunday a trip for nine of us from Tirua to the Alderman Islands with Corornandel Ocean Adventures. It was a WOW boat trip, snorkelling and island discovery adventure. Our skipper, Ritchie, knew the islands intimately and was very safety conscious. We snorkelled through a cave, amongst many beautiful fish and in many nooks and crannies around the island. We were blessed with amazing weather.

Massive thanks to Neil for hosting most of us. And great to have Chris and Tim, from the Kohi Kippers, join us.

Another year done and dusted, celebrated on a perfect day with a swim, of course, yummy brunch, prizegiving and agm.

The idea of swimming the circumference of Lake Taupo was born just over 3 years ago. Yesterday four of our members finished their mission.

A total of 160 kms of swimming, broken into 17 swims over 3 summers. The smiles at the finish say it all. It’s been quite the adventure with so many supporters and swimmers joining in on the way. Congrats Andrew Scurr, Jared Seymour, Carol Prop and Paul Ritchie 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Acacia Bay looks the better bet for tomorrow, so lets go there.

Purse/wallet lost at Epic Swim

A lady lost her wallet, which is a coin purse with oboriginal design. It has her bank cards/HOP card/gold card/cash. She has filed a police report but of course would dearly love to get her wallet back.

She said, it will be behind or at the side of the large rock at the entrance to the car park near the swim set up ( before the boat Harbour parks, near the shed). I was sitting on the rock waiting for a shuttle to the airport.

If anyone happens to know about it or if you are down there, can you have a look for it. There is a slight possibility it is still there as the colour means it won’t have stood out, esp if it is behind the rock.
