⚡️2026 Wrap up⚡️

And that’s a wrap. Another winter gone. Omanu wants to thank all its players, coaches, managers, supporters and committee for another hockey season and want to highlight a few things from 2026.

This year Omanu Premier Blues and Senior Reds both were diverse in age and experience competed in the Tauranga Hockey Division 1 Women’s Grade.
💙 Premier Blues team had a whopping season and made it to the grand final. Put up a fight however Valkyries came out on top.
❤️ Senior Reds had a tough season coming 6th in the grade however results for the Reds each week were close and no doubt next year will thrive.

✨Drink Bottle Fundraiser
This year, thanks to the support of Holland Beckett and you, the Omanu whānau and community we sold 93 drink bottles for our fundraising this year. Over $900 profit was made and will go towards helping the club continue to grow and improve what Omanu already is.

🏑 Fair Play Campaign
We launched a ‘Fair Play Campaign’ this year in support of Tauranga Hockey and sportsmanship. Omanu takes pride in the sport and the people who help make hockey possible within Tauranga. ‘Love the game first’

🏆 2026 Prize giving
Come together on the 17th October to celebrate the end of the season and those a part of it.

Senior Reds 🔴
The reds played an awesome game against Moana White and while we lost 1-2, it was a game where everyone played their hearts out, had heaps of fun, and where everyone came off with a big smile.

All our younger players did an amazing job this week. We had Tayla again absolutely proving what a force she is in the goal with so many saves.

Bailey with incredible skills to help set up our goal Tianna shut down many attacks and
Georgia who was G turning.

BUT the Reds POD went to Sylvie. She was everywhere she needed to be, used incredible skills to get around and through the opposition, and also showed speed and thought in moving and positioning herself around the field. Well done Sylvie!

Premier Blues 🔵
The Blues were up against the Mount in the semi final.
With everything on the line, the Blues played a beautiful team game, executing their game plan perfectly and coming away with a 3-1 win and a spot in next week’s final!

With superb performances from numerous players, our mate Chelsea took the POD this week with a superb diving goal to help put the game out of reach for her opponents.

Come down and support the club next week as the teams play their last games of the season and OBHC look to secure the trophy 🏆

baxter47 (left) used her signature speed to make gains on attack and combined well with other strikers to break through the Blues defence.

For the Blues 💙
(right) defended superbly and showed off her substantial speed and set up her strikers making several breaks through the midfield.
