As DJ Khaled once said, “Another one!”

Another Friday S&C done and dusted 👏

04/09/2026

WHY S&C?

We want to stay as fit and healthy as possible all while having fun!

Nothing crazy HARD, no heavy lifting that’ll leave you more injured than when you came in.

It’s about general upkeep, maintenance & injury prevention.

Last week we spoke about if you don’t use it you lose it!
Super important for any age.

Want to stay strong and healthy?
finding a way to be able to train week in and week out without overloading is exactly how we can keep this up for life, and that’s the Goal!! 💪

PART II How to finish the snap,
Set up attacks and go behind’s.

Biggest mistake I see,
Guys will hit a snap to front head lock they are in a super strong position then they rush the go behind and not only lose the position but they BACKTRACK! Offering up underhooks to their opponent. 🤦‍♂️

FORCE THE HANDS TO THE GROUND.
Make sure they have weight on the hands if they can lift their arms there’s not enough weight going through the ground and when you go behind you’ll likely lose position.

Start focusing on this and not only will go behind’s become easier but attacks will be there too!

Like, share & follow for more.
Comments help too 😉 🫶

SNAP DOWNS FOR BEGINNERS. 😊

Two IMPORTANT details you must understand before you try a snap down.

1. Forward motion 2. Broken posture

Without these two details, a snap down is very unlikely.

So how do we create opportunities for snap downs keeping these two concepts in mind.

3 SET UPS

• Push & Pull
Push your opponent back to force forward momentum.

• Fake the leg
Attacks on the lead leg to create broken posture.

• Square up
Put your opponent into a square stance for an easy off balance.

Understand what makes a snap work, mix up your techniques to create the desired reaction, and boom!
You should see your self hitting far more successful snap downs!

Hopefully this was helpful 🤙

CONTROL THE FIGHT FROM THE START 🤼‍♂️

Every fight starts in the same place, on the feet.

And if you can wrestle, you get a say in what happens next.

You can dictate where the fight goes.
You can force your opponent into positions that suit you.
You can make them carry your weight, defend takedowns, scramble and work, all while creating fatigue.

That gives you an opportunity to gain a head start before the fight has really even settled.

And sometimes, it gives you the opportunity to finish it early.

Wrestling is hard. There’s no getting around that.

But like any skill, the more time you spend practicing it, the easier it becomes. Your technique improves, your reactions become sharper, and your cardio and conditioning develop alongside it.

Eventually, something that used to exhaust you becomes a weapon you can use to exhaust someone else.

That’s where wrestling becomes such a huge advantage.

Against someone who is less skilled or less conditioned, you’re not just deciding where the fight happens, you’re controlling the pace, forcing them to work and making them fight your fight.

Learn to wrestle. Learn to dictate the fight.

Train smart, train safe.
If it feels sketchy don’t force it.
If it’s challenging give it a go!

Today’s S&C was all about injury prevention. Building strong joints and stabilising muscles so we can stay in the game long term.

We moved through ankle, knee, hip, shoulder and neck work, with a few fun games and isometrics mixed in…
Simple stuff that pays big later.

Key takeaways:
You don’t always have to do a long hour session, little and often is perfect fine.
Sprinkle in a few joint-friendly exercises between rounds, before class, or while your coach demos. It’s like veggies. Not always exciting, but your body will thank you. Train smart now, keep training tomorrow.

Want to get some hard rounds in? You’ll find them.

Want to flow, move around, drill something new and have a laugh? Perfect.

Train as light or as hard as you like. No pressure. No expectations.

The training is a bonus. The best part is getting good people from across the grappling community together in the same room.

It’s genuinely become one of the funnest days of the week.
