Our U6 years men singles was won by Sam Dockary (R) with the runner-up Graeme Troy (L).
Congratulations and well done to all who participated - the bowls was of a very good standard for the first big competition of the season.

Sorry for the absence of posts. I have been away and now am rearing to go.
What has been happening at Bowls Matua?
Well, we continue to hold our membership and casuals. Our Monday Social twilight was a huge success. Every Monday we welcomed over 70 people. If all turned up we would have over 100. The weather we enjoyed was fantastic. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Business House. We did not get sufficient teams. We are looking to create a bit of an event for Saturday afternoon bowls based on the split six bowls format. Here you can play as an individual and enjoy a more competitive game.
We do welcome the hosting of corporate and private events so give me a call on 021 432 154 to discuss. This year we hosted 55 events. We are one of the most affordable venues in Tauranga and bowls provides a great way for people to unwind with a glass of wine or beer or something else.
We are entering the Autumn season, but we are open all year round. Drop by and have a fun game on our artificial green.

FULL MEMBER SALES CAMPAIGN – SPECIAL ONE YEAR OFFER $100

We are offering an incentive to new players who have not played bowls before or who have only ever been a casual lawn bowls player. They must join before the end of October 2018 to get a special one-off price of $100 in their first season. The membership then resorts to the normal annual price in the second season. (currently $240)

We have designed a nifty little promotional flyer for a mailshot to streets in Matua and Otumoetai and we hope our members will assist in placing no more than 10 flyers per person. The whole exercise is very cheap, and we hope to attract 10 or so new members. Other Tauranga bowls clubs do this to entice new players and they report good results.

Look out for more information on which streets we are targeting as you might be the member selected to post them in household letterboxes in your street.

Of course, if you have a person or couple in mind and you know they might be interested in taking up lawn bowling grab one of the flyers from Cliff.
