🌟 Teacher Spotlight 🌟
⭐️ Julie ⭐️
If you've met Julie, you've probably already noticed her warm smile and welcoming nature.
When she's not on the dance floor, you'll usually find her outdoors, walking, biking, gardening, or enjoying a relaxed afternoon at the pub. She's also a fan of sewing and knitting.
Julie's dance journey began 18 years ago when her best friend came to visit from the UK.
"It was a great girls' night out. Dance... then the pub!"
She had so much fun that she simply kept coming back.
Today, alongside Matt, she's one of the owners of our branch and loves helping create the welcoming atmosphere that so many people comment on.
❤️ What does Julie love most about our dance family?
"The friendships, nurturing and inclusivity."
Because at the end of the day, it's the people who keep us coming back.

🌟 Teacher Spotlight 🌟
⭐️ Matt ⭐️
Many of you know Matt as one of the owners of our branch, a teacher, and a familiar face on the dance floor. What you might not know is that before he was teaching dance, he was already coaching people.
When he's not dancing, you'll usually find him coaching rowing, cycling, running, travelling, or finding another way to stay active.
Matt and Julie discovered dance shortly after moving to New Zealand in 2008. Julie was looking for something social, and because they both loved music, dance seemed like a natural fit.
What started as a new hobby quickly became much more.
"We made some great lifelong friends."
Today, one of Matt's favourite things about our club is the people.
"Nikita calls it our dance family, and that's so true."
❤️ Favourite thing about our community? The people.
💃 Favourite dance move? The Yo-Yo.
🎵 Favourite way to dance? To a song with a strong beat and plenty of musical variety.
And in case you've ever been intimidated by his serious expression...
😄 Matt would assure you, "I'm not as grumpy as I look!"

Time to dance....Come and join us this Wednesday for a fun night at Elizabeth St Community Centre...We'll be social dancing from 6.30pm with Beginners class kicking off at 7.00pm.
