Now & then I come across amazing clients that inspire me and others. Robyn is one of those - she is a legend! 🙏🏽
Robyn says:
“Nate, as my personal gym trainer words cannot describe how inspiring, patient and motivational you are.
MND sucks, however you keeping my head positive is helpful!”
Thanks Robyn and Local Food NZ + Feilding Farm Shop for the eggs ❤️

This show was very special for me and thanks to everyone behind the scenes that helped me push my limits for my best overall condition to date.
The quality of natural athletes is getting better each year. But most importantly the support everyone shows each other on and off stage is why I love ICN. It’s you vs you and getting up there and giving it your best is what it’s all about! We are all winners 👏🏽
Congrats to all the athletes and all the coaches and thanks to for creating such a great community ❤️🙏🏽
Will see a lot of you in 8 weeks at the Nationals, let’s do it all again 💯💯

Love being in a position where helping people is part of my day to day schedule 🙏🏽
It’s a privilege to put the stepping stones in place for my clients to work toward their goal.
And it’s rewarding when they achieve the results they work so hard and so consistently for !
There’s no magic pills, it comes down to your work ethic and how consistent you will be.
And if you’re working hard and keeping consistent but not getting results, sometimes all it takes is that 5% more!!!
Tighten the nutrition a bit more, hit more intentional reps, add an extra training day, do more steps, etc.
And always enjoy the journey 🤛🏽💯

Don’t forget to STRETCH
Harder you train, more you should stretch.
Think of the workout as damaging the muscle. (in a good way lol)
Stretching, food, sleep, recovery etc is the repair side of things so that the body can come back stronger and better.
Pre or post workout (dynamics stretching pre workout / static stretching post workout) or even at home, even a few minutes can be beneficial 👏🏽

To lean up you must be in a calorie deficit (which is basically burning more cals than what you eat week to week)
Obviously the most common way to get into a calorie deficit is to reduce calories.
What if your calories are already low?
Or what if you want to eat more and keep leaning up? Or maintain a healthy bodyweight and still be able to “enjoy yourself”?
Get into a deeper deficit by increasing your energy output. AKA move more. Move with more intention. 💪🏽
Here’s 6 ways you can do this (ON TOP of good nutrition - this is number 1 for building a solid physique)
Note: This is assuming someone is already weight training. If you’re not then that could be your first step.
1) Add cardio post workout. Get through your weights session then add a bit of cardio at the end. Even 3x10mins a week is a great starting point.
2) Sauna. If your gym has a sauna, make use of it. This is where you can go to sweat out toxins + help reduce water retention + burn calories whilst literally sitting there doing nothing. Fantastic add-on after a workout.
3) Weight train harder. Train with more intention - squeeze and stretch the muscle more, hit forced reps, increase volume, decrease rest between sets, superset, make sure you sweat instead of just going through the motion.
4) 30 mins outdoor walk. Take up walking in your local area. Start with 2x 30mins a week and build on it. A good trick is just walk 15mins 1 way. Then turn around and head back. “30mins” is a lot easier when you just focus on the first 15mins.
5) Get into swimming. It’s a great way to burn calories on top of weights/cardio training. Running, biking, kayaking, sport, are also great.
6) Want it MORE. Everyone wants to get in shape but you’ll only get as far as you push yourself. Match your effort to your want, increase your want, and then put in the work! Prioritise and hold your fitness high; so regardless of how busy you get, you will make time for this. Why? Because you want it bad enough.
Hope this spreads some motivation! Have an epic rest of your day 🙏🏽
