🚨 Tauranga, It’s Time to Show Up 🚨

Enough is enough. Tuesday, the 25th of February at 10 AM, the Courts will decide the future of Tauranga's Marine Precinct. This is about more than a sale, it’s about transparency, accountability, and whether our city is run for the people or for private interests.

Let’s be crystal clear: The Current Elected Council had the power to stop this sale under a clause in the Sale & Purchase Agreement. But instead of taking a vote to decide, they let it move forward. Now, local businesses facing displacement are forced to fund a six-figure legal battle just to fight for fairness and a potential seven-figures if they lose.

👉They dismissed the $29M+ in public funds that will now be funnelled into the precinct, not for the community, but to benefit private owners.
👉They turned their backs on our local marine industry, a $100M economic powerhouse.
👉They ignored previous offers that would have kept this land in public hands.

👉And now? The very industry they’re pushing out is left to foot the bill and fight this battle alone. (Thanks to Pacific 7, Sean Kelly for bank rolling this)

This is WHY the system needs to change. This is WHY we need lobbying laws. This is WHY councils and even central government must be held to higher standards.
