TECT Park

TECT Park had several field gates stolen last night (Friday). We'd love to get them back, so if you're offered a cheap but very distinctive blue painted gate, drop TECT Park or Greerton Police a message so the gates can return home.
Likewise, if your neighbour has just acquired some snazzy new gates with pretty blue top rails, have a quiet word with them about not supporting rural crime.

This is not the sort of post we like to make.
TECT Park operates so that everyone gets a chance to do the things they love but with that freedom comes a few rules, not many but a few to keep people safe and to protect what we have.
Sometimes it's the job of the Rangers to remind people of those rules and while we don't always expect them to like it, no one should have to face threats and abuse while they are at work.
If you think it's okay to abuse Park staff, please think again.
We take this sort of behaviour really seriously, if you decide to be abusive or violent you will be asked to leave and depending on how uncooperative you decide to be, you may not be welcome to return.
Our priority is your enjoyment so let's make TECT Park a safe & happy place for everyone.

Motorbike track update
With a week's dry weather forecast (wasn't last week shocking?) we'd hoped that the public tracks would be hard enough to reopen next weekend. Unfortunately, despite passing three closure notices and having to rip the gates off their hinges, people have used the kid's track today and made quite a mess.
It will take a while to get back to fix it up, so the trail network will remain closed at least for another 2-3 weeks.

Good morning (?)
We've been reviewing some of the damage still remaining in the Park after January's weather event. Unfortunately there a couple of areas that we feel are still active, so we'll be doing some earthworks to stabilise them over the next couple of weeks.
Julian will be working on the track through the gorge to the north-west corner of the Park (from the MTB car park to the north-west trailhead) for the next two weeks, reprofiling the banks above the track. This means that the track (and as a result the horse & MTB trails on that side of the Park) will be closed on weekdays until at least next Friday 26th June.

A sunny, action filled day is set for Sunday's regional BOP Paintball Club's Triples battle at TECT Park tomorrow 🏆 Spectators are welcome!

The Weekend Sun | Paintball players set to battle at TECT Park Bright-coloured projectiles will be furiously flying in TECT Park this Sunday as a speed-focused paintball contest draws entrants from across the North Island.

We will be carrying out some upgrades to the Kiwicash/Penny hardware in the freedom camping ablutions block next week. This means that some facilities such as showers and laundry may be unavailable between Tuesday 9th June and Thursday 11th June.
