Kia ora koutou,

We’re excited to announce Round Two of the Mickell Scholarship for 2026— an initiative designed to support coaches, officials, athletes, and teams across the Bay of Plenty. Following a successful first year, we’re excited to continue offering this opportunity to grow and strengthen our sporting community.

Mr John Mickell generously bequested a financial gift to Bay Trust to support various sports in the Bay of Plenty region, with the goal of increasing participation by removing geographical barriers to competition. Sport Bay of Plenty are administering the scholarships on behalf of BayTrust.

This scholarship will provide travel and accommodation support for regional, national, and international competitions (excludes school competitions), ensuring that financial constraints provide less of a hinderance to Bay of Plenty coaches, athletes and teams.

Kia ora Softballers,

One of our long-standing softballing families, yesterday lost their family home in a devastating fire. Our thoughts are with the Te Wheoro Whanau at this time. There has been a give-a-little page set up to help fundraise money to help the family recover and we invite any who wish to contribute, to click on the link. Thank you.
