The best way to spend a Friday is at the track, the race car test day at Hampton Downs was a complete success - firstly a massive thanks to Rebecca and Dad for supporting me all through the build and Caleb for crew support it made for an awesome day.
The car went brilliantly, felt very compliant and moved around very predictably, the gearbox is hurt however - 3-4 synchros are toast but that is the old gearbox for ya…..next on the fix list..
Jeez it can boogie, it is all coming together now.
Need to do bushes all round and sort the box - then we are ready to crack on - chassis feel is unreal with the seatback tied to the cage 🤟 big thanks to Stu and Grady at Hitech Motorsports for smashing out a fantastic tune it is a super bit of work!

Engine loom is one branch point from finished as far as layup goes.
Just need to add filler wires between the first and second branch points finish BP 1 then check, dr25, check, boot and seal branch points then on to connectors and test - then finish the forward chassis harness and we are gooooood👌👌👌👌👌 /32 @ Ohaupo, New Zealand

We have power - so stoked - now to get the rest of the harness finished and we will be back at the dyno ASAP 😬👌🤓

Still at it, so very close to being back in action, doing it all properly......

Just waiting for some HD loom connectors and starting some sub looms as well as the main bay harness.

Life is awesome at getting in the way and now I’m so very ok with that but it taunts me every time I open the shed 🤣

Because the IGN loom was such a balls up in gen 1 it was the first item to get the full Tefzel and DR20 treatment too - not letting someone else terminate it again🤦‍♂️

Small delay in proceedings - wiring rehash to figure out all the mystery loose ends (😑) and a repaint inside to make it tidy after all the work and scratches etc, then planning for the new body loom and engine loom -

Loving my new crimp kit and NO I don’t intend to keep using open crimp pins in my connectors - the new harnesses will all be tefzel and closed barrel Deutsch 🤘

Eventually in feb off to the Bay for a health check and maybe a full power tune - there are sleepless nights expected and fume induced headaches too.......

Should get the wing finished this coming week, might also be lucky enough to start doing some composite replacement panels if I play my cards really right......

I have a picture in my mind of how I really want it to be - it’s just a case of biting the bullet and getting it to Horotiu for some sheet ally work too, but that is in the post Xmas time frame I think now....
