A crisp but sunny and perfectly still winter's morning for our final race of the Chocolate Fish Summerish Series saw some icy conditions turn increasingly slippery though the race to challenge our racers. Well done and thank you to all who raced and helped out!

We presented the three trophies which will now be taken for engraving before being returned to our winners to be proudly displayed for the year.

Series Results:

Open Youth

1st Flynn Scott
2nd Hugo Brice

Senior Female

1st Bridget Scott
2nd Alice Brice

Senior Male

1st Paul Walker
2nd Nick Webb
3rd Hamish Scott

Our Chocolate Fish races will continue to run through winter, weather permitting before we start next year's Summer Series.

A message from a local mum if anyone keen to share 🙂

Hi there
My son is 11 years old and obsessed with mountain biking. We spend a lot of weekends on different trails in the area.
His most favourite one is Mt Hutt.
I’m asking if there are any like minded parents or riders who would be keen to ride Mount Hutt with us.
I can’t always take him as need an adult or someone older going down with him, then someone obviously has to shuttle the car.
I appreciate any help
I’m more than happy to take other kids.

Please message Alana Shefford if you can help.

If you’ve been thinking about joining a fun and award winning committee - this is for you.

It’s your chance to:
🚴‍♂️ help shape and grow one of Waimate’s signature events
🏃‍♀️ meet great people
🚶 raise money for the community
🤓 gain committee and event experience

The hard work was front-loaded when the event first started. These days it’s more about growing what we’ve built, trying new ideas and getting involved as much - or as little - as suits you around event time.

Come along to our AGM:
📍 The Waimate Kitchen & Bar
📅 Tuesday 2 June
🕖 7pm - 8pm

No obligation - just come say hi, find out what it’s about and see if it’s your kind of thing.

Conveniently, it’s also Take-In Tuesday… pizza and fries for $20.

We told you it was a fun committee. 🍕🔥
