There is honey in the office for sale from our local farm Bluebank in the Akatarawa Valley. $13 for a pot of honey. If you suffer from hayfever and you live in the area, a little honey each day helps to build your immune system up to reduce pollen allergies from local pollen.

It also tastes AMAZING! Grab a pot when you are next in the gym 🥰

Nutrition and hydration is critical to how our body moves, our hormonal state, our emotional state and our overall mental wellbeing. BUT - we all know this is easier said than done! How can we improve our nutrition and hydration to get more out of our fitness, movement and support brain and gut function so our hormones can keep us well and happy?

Food is becoming increasingly expensive. Particularly here in Aotearoa New Zealand. The cheaper foods tend to be processed and lacking the necessary nutrients to support recovery and repair in the human body. Something so simple can become complex when we start to investigate how food can affect our tissue health!

Honestly, we are surrounded by an abundance of food. The easiest way to start to work on your nutrition, is to look at portion control and the speed with which food is eaten. So what can you do today to help?

Here is one thing you can work on:

Time yourself eating your next meal. See if you can take longer and longer to eat your meal. The perfect amount of time for our bodies to intake the nutrients from our food is 20 minutes. Note your time with each meal and not the level of satiety (or satisfaction), satiety levels will increase as the length of time eating increases, thus we have natural portion control.

Have a go, note down your results and comment here to let us know what you discovered!
