Matamata Aero Club Matamata Aero Club is a small flying club located at the Matamata airfield with about 40 members. We have a Tecnam P92 Echo Super for training or hire.

We had our AGM yesterday, 19th Sept. The same committee as last year have gallantly chosen to continue supporting our club.
There were three FlyingNZ ‘Blue Awards’ presented to Egmont, Kent and Pete. This recognises pilots who have earned their Private Pilot Licence (PPL), Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL), or Advanced Microlight Pilot Certificate. Well done all.
They stand with President Anna, CFI Rainer and Instructor George.

It’s been a little while since our last update, but what a great run of flying weather we’ve had! The airfield and club have been busy over the last few weekends, with plenty of flying taking place.

Mark has been getting stuck into solo circuit flying and practising emergency procedures as he continues to build his experience. If you’d like to read more about his flying journey, check out his student testimonial on our website: https://mac.org.nz/student-testimonials/

Beau has also been making excellent progress, working on crosswind circuits and continuing to develop his skills and confidence.

The club aircraft has been kept busy with a great mix of student training and member hire flying. It’s fantastic to see so much activity around the club and members making the most of the good weather.

Well done Kent on achieving your full Advanced Certificate today in PFL. Your CFI tells me the wx was a tad challenging… very low cloud in the circuit and a convenient higher hole enabling full flight testing. Well done! Great work 😎
