We have had a great first start in the pool with the club coming in fourth overall in the club points and Fionn O’Mara coming in as the U11 Male age group champion. The team continues to train hard, and we can't wait for the Southern Region Pool Champs in September.

The 2026 Canterbury Pool Rescue Interclub delivered a nail-biting finish at its first outing at the new Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre, with Sumner SLSC crowned overall championship after a fiercely contested two-day battle on 20-21 June. Bringing together 243 athletes from 21 clubs across New Zealand, the weekend produced racing of the highest standard and an unofficial national record.

Huge congratulations to our very own Geriant Campbell, who’s taking the skills and experience gained right here at Waikuku Beach Surf Life Saving Club and putting them to use on the other side of the world.

It’s a great reminder of just how far surf lifesaving skills can take you — the training, teamwork, and dedication we build on our home beach opens doors to opportunities anywhere in the world.

Awesome to see our club producing lifesavers who can hold their own on any coastline. Well done, Geriant — flying the Waikuku flag high! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇳🇿

It's that time of year again!

We need to know numbers ASAP to book lane space. So, if you are returning from last year, please complete the registration form and return to Andrea by 25th April.

Please note that this is not a learn to swim service, some level of competency is required but feel free to discuss this with Andrea or one of the coaches.

A great opportunity for clubbies!

Don’t miss this one! Tomorrow, Darren Shand, a Taylors Mistake SLSC clubbie is spending the evening with us at South Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club for his session “Lessons in Leadership”.

Come down to South Brighton for a 6:30pm start, the bar will be open.
All Surf Life Saving members are welcome, so come along for a social evening with your mates- no cost involved!

We are fortunate to have Darren coming along to share his inspiring leadership journey, insights and stories from his time as Manager of the All Blacks.

A huge congratulations to Eva Rose, Annika, Cooper, Emelia and Petra who attended Intermediate Lifeguard School this past weekend at Taylor’s Mistake. The 5 candidates took part in a rock module, board module, patrol scenarios, first aid scenarios, and SAR scenarios. They also had many different sessions such as leadership, external agency visits and more!

We also had Helena come to rock instruct, Amy there as staff and Ailsa (one of our og lifegaurds) come as St John.
