Our Unichem Women came out firing on Saturday, putting in a great performance against HB Masters. The girls worked well as a team and put together some amazing plays, resulting in a strong win.
Our Higgins Men faced a tough challenge against City United on Friday night. The boys put in a solid effort and worked hard, but unfortunately didn’t get the win they hoped for. Plenty of positives to take away from the game.
Well done to both teams on their efforts!

Great game from our Unichem Women as they took on Te Awa Prems in a friendly on Saturday.
With both teams having a bye in their respective competitions, it was a great opportunity to get another quality game under the belt. The girls put in a strong performance but narrowly went down 4–3 in a closely fought contest.
Both teams will be back on the turf this weekend! Keep an eye out for this week’s schedule, coming soon!
The Black Sticks gave this challenge a go, so we figured, why shouldn’t we?
The Nothing But Net Challenge quickly reminded the boys just how far they are from the Black Sticks… but that didn’t stop them from giving it their best shot!

Round 11
This weekend our Higgins Men’s team have a bye. After a massive Club Day last weekend, the boys have earnt a weekend off.
Our Unichem Women’s team also have a bye in the Division 2 competition, but they’ll still be taking the turf after accepting the opportunity to play a friendly against Te Awa Prems. It’s set to be a great challenge and valuable game for the girls.

A big thank you to Rural Support Trust Hawke's Bay for letting us borrow their BBQ for Club Day!
It was put to good use keeping everyone fed throughout the day and helped make the event a great success.

CLUB DAY RESULTS!
Another successful day for Central Hockey Club with our annual Club Day held on Saturday!
Our Higgins Men’s team kicked off the day against Te Awa Blue. After a tough first half, the boys showed real determination and heart but unfortunately came up short 5–2.
Next up, our Unichem Women’s team took on Tech in one of their toughest games this season. The girls dug deep and produced some brilliant defensive effort, coming away with a hard fought 1–0 win.
To finish the day, we celebrated a special 10 year match, with our current Higgins Men’s team taking on the 2016 Central Men’s team. It was awesome to see past and present players back on home turf. The 2016 side struck early, but after a competitive and entertaining game full of great hockey, physical battles, and a couple of green cards, the current Higgins Men’s side came away with the win 4–2.
A huge thank you to all players, supporters, families, and past players who came down to the turf and made the day so special. Days like these really show what Central Hockey Club is all about! 🧡🏑
