North Harbour Māori Rugby

Tēnā koutou katoa,

Planning is underway for the 2026 North Harbour Māori Rugby season, and we are seeking Expressions of Interest from those who would like to support our kaupapa.

We are looking for passionate people to help across our rangatahi programmes, including:

* Coaches
* Assistant Coaches
* Team Managers
* Trainers, physios, sponsors and team support staff
Grades:
- U16 & 18 Tama
- U16 & U18 Kōhine

We also welcome applications from anyone interested in supporting the wider organisation through areas such as administration, game day operations, tours, noho marae, haka, and Te Ao Māori development.

If you held a coaching or management role in previous seasons, please complete a new application so we can confirm your interest and update your contact details.

MĀORI RUGBY RANGATIRA WORKSHOPs by New Zealand Rugby

The New Zealand Rugby Union is holding two up-skill weekends for all Māori development coaches and support staff from around the Country.
The weekend will have a focus on enabling Rangatira to deliver rugby with a Māori lens. It is envisaged that all participants will become key drivers within their regions to help drive Māori Rugby and Māori in Rugby in the future.

North Island Course Date:
Friday 14th February 3:00pm – Sunday 16th February 2025 10:00am
Venue: Equippers Church (originally The Harvest Centre) , 324 Malfroy Road, Pomare, Rotorua 3015

South Island Course Date:
Friday 28th February 3:00pm – Sunday 2nd March 2025 10:00am
Venue: Arowhenua Marae, 39 Huirapa Street, Temuka 7985

Friday
Powhiri, Whakawhānaungatanga, Introduction to E Tū Toa kaupapa, NZ Rugby Guest Presenter
Saturday
Creating an environment for Māori in rugby to express themselves on and off the field, NZ Rugby & Māori All Black Guest Presenters, Life skilling rugby Coaching, Empowering Rangatahi to become Rangatira
Sunday
NZ Māori Board strategic plan and discuss initiatives that will help grow the game of rugby for all Māori participants, Māori Rugby Hīkina program.
