URGENT NOTICE TO NZAHS MEMBERS
We need you to lend us 15-30 minutes (maximum) of your time this Saturday (26 September) to take part in our SGM (Special General Meeting) on Zoom - which is, in brief, to update our audit rules to save the Society more than $10,000 in accountancy fees. An email with full details will be resent today.
The quorum is 15 members which we need for the meeting to proceed. Please register by emailing the Secretary on [email protected]
A zoom link will be sent out and the meeting will proceed at 2.30pm on Saturday with a very short agenda which is explained below. This can be a quick meeting, with your help.
The four resolutions the SGM will vote on are outlined in detail in emails previously sent through to members, including one on 17 September and an update today.
Members are being asked to vote on four decisions:
• Waive the audit/review requirement for 2023–2025. If not approved, all three years must be retrospectively reviewed at an estimated cost of $10,000–$10,500.
• Adopt the updated annual financial statement format. This aligns the Society’s reporting with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
• Amend the Constitution. This removes obsolete Auditor clauses, updates Clause 81(c), and makes necessary formatting adjustments.
• Approve the 2025 annual financial statements for filing. This approval is only possible if Resolution 1 (Retrospective Waiver) is passed.
