The HighSide Creation and vision Ryan Larraman from Reality Mechanic came for a visit and to fly with his good friend Weapon on a tandem flight with me. While there he surprised me with a short interview about the HighSide, its creation and vision for the future.The Highside community project with SkyWings Paragliding.

Amazing day out at the HighSide on Saturday- had the opportunity to take old friends for a spontaneous tandem as the sun was setting. What a blast 🎉🤜💥.

Hello Skywings Community,

I’m Hannah, Hunters partner and I’m taking on rehabilitation of the Highside. There are 15 hectares of sand blow on the land and if nothing is done there is a good chance the takeoff could be covered in sand within 10 years! This is based on comparison photos between 2011 and now. See pic below.

So I’m calling on all able bodied people who would like to volunteer their services and help save the Highside take off. I’ll be gathering Lupin seeds, transplanting marram grass and experimenting with other plants that show promise at holding the sand at bay.

I can’t do this alone and need volunteers for planting and gathering of seed.

There are two days coming up in January (16th &21st) for Lupin seed gathering and March - May will be the busiest time for transplanting. Can do as little or as much as you like, with stunning views and a fly and or swim to finish :)
