Nacho overseeing the start of another day, not touching the cold concrete is his ideal👌
Hes been here 17years already, he knows what he's doing🤗
Moira has trained gallopers on Karioitahi Beach since 1988, her home based stables offer a lovely lifestyle for the horses.
All raceday fitness preparation is done at the beach with the benefit of work on a perfect surface in straight line & water walking

Lucky Karios ( by Time Test) is wearing his ear covers this week because we have had frosty mornings! ( pretty rare for us being so elevated and coastal!)
Lucky the views make up for how absolutely freezing it is, especially when we are the last to have then sun reach us behind those cliffs🙈
Enjoy the half light and sunrise from behind his lovely pair of ears from the comforts of your home at a much more sensible hour.
We do it for you so you dont actually have to feel just how cold it is🙈😳😅
Quinn ( by Pins) and Bubbles (by Regeese) look a picture in their work this week🥰

'Track Spys' lined up and waiting to see how the horses work past😎
Who said its hard to get intel from out at the beach💁♀️
There's actually 4 horses in the paddock between the hill, both the camera and I were being blinded by the morning sun to see properly, but when I first looked up the four horses were walking along the top of the hill with their breath visible in single file, it was a lovely sight!
By the time I feed the horses and got my phone, 2 had called it a day and started eating and the sun made it a challenge to see any of them at all 😆
Still nice to see them in their daily element🤗
The 2 ahead is
Hivie (by Shalaa)
Fleet (by Redwood)
The second pair you see as I zoom away is
Charlie (by Tavistock)
Karios ( by Time Test)
And finally in the spelling paddock who i was actually their to feed is
Dan (by Brilliance) hes rising 19years now! And stayed on with us after he retired from racing as the best babysitter❤️
he's a very kind chap
Currently he's Uncle to
Sonic ( by Ardrossan) who is in the blue cover and loves his Danimal
Lucky Sonic🥰
After ride time for horse and rider where we wait on the next truck to arrive.
It's a chance to have their apple, to roll in the sand, to have a scratch with their rider ( or another horse) or simply chill and watch the scenery
However they choose to spend their time( or if the do all of the options😆) its a nice part of the day for both horses and riders
Its also nice to watch 🥰
A morning at our favourite place🤗

A lovely piece done by 7 Sharp lastnight about horses enjoying life as a racehorse on Karioitahi Beach🥰
How could I NOT share a how (famous) Toby ( by The Bold One) spent his morning at the beach today 🤗❤️
51 seconds of our fav guy and Jockey Ace as they top of a beautiful scene at the beach with the surf in the background and sunlight (finially) just reaching us
He was the star on 7 Sharp tonight!
What a pleasure Micheal and Dave's company is on an incredibly cold morning watching horses on the beach!
A big thanks to them for coming all the way out (very)early and for finding just a nice story to enjoy of horses working along the beach🤗
Most trainers are interviewed for their most famous horse for winning lots of races!
Toby is interviewed for not having won a race (yet)😆 but when your a top guy like Toby you can still have a long and happy career doing what you love❤️ so why not
The thing is, he loves his life at Isola, he loves his work, his box, paddock, all the variety of food and having everyone well versed in Toby's routine, wants and needs and how do to things
Hes always a pleasure to hang out with, do anything with and ride
Hes given many their first ride on a race horse. Or their first gallop or their safest ride on a crazy beach morning
Hes helped new apprentices achieve their goal of getting their Jockey license
Or having their first start on race day start!
He has had many senior jockeys ride him who all get off and say the same thing
1, I thought we were going to win at the 200 mark
2, he'll certainly win a race
3, Id love to ride him again hes such a dude
Its also worth saying that Toby never runs a bad race either! he usually weighs in, is always consistent and hes a clean winded and sound fellow who goes about his racing life in an incredibly relaxed fashion
I have not looked for a hack home for Toby yet, but he'll make someone a neat friend that is for sure!
Mostly I'm denial about leaving the barn, the ride list will not be the same without him!
He's my Emotional Support Racehorse. Everyone needs one💁♀️
