A belated happy new year to all our players, supporters and followers. A quick look back at some of the highlights from 2024. A year of firsts for the club. Our first training session, our first challenge match, our first fundraiser! Our first competition at the Christchurch 7s and our first win! Some other highlights through out the year, two of members representing New Zealand at the state games in Melbourne, many great nights at .social_taproomandeatery for post training nutrition, club ski day and plenty of sing songs through out the year. Big thanks to everyone who helped us out during the year. All the local businesses donating prizes and hosting us for food and drinks. If there’s any local businesses who want to help us out we’re on the lookout for sponsorship for the year ahead. The footballs have been officially handed over now and it’s time for .ward55 to take the wheel! Anyone new to Wānaka looking to get involved send us a message we’re always looking and welcoming new players. It’s been an absolute pleasure getting the ball rolling for Gaelic Football here in Wānaka. 💙🤍

And that’s a wrap for 2024 team. Thanks to everyone who contributed big or small to the club. What started out as an idea over a quiet pint turned into something so much more. A community, a social space, a bit of craic in the hamlet that is Wanaka. We’ve had players come from Waterford, Dublin, Wales, Argentina, New Zealand and even Longford and everywhere else in between. Have a happy and safe Christmas and great New Year. Nollaig Shona daoibh go léir.
