Things are getting spooky around here and they're about to get a whole lot spookier!

Spooky Social Night is tomorrow and there will be a prize for the best dressed Halloween climber. Get creative if you want to be in the running as we know there are some great costumes loading. Expect games, prizes and a whole lot of frightening fun 🐈‍⬛👻🎃🧛‍♂️🧛‍♀️😈👹🕷🕸💉

Tom had a great time on an Intro to Rock half day. He was keen to focus on abseiling, so instructor Cam headed out to Bannockburn where there's a great beginner abseil on the slabs, as well as some steeper options for when you're feeling more confident. He also tried a few rock climbs, and his wife came along to take photos and enjoy a stunning spring day next to the Kawarau River. Ka pai Tom!

We will be closing the Queenstown gym, including Clip 'n Climb, on Friday 23rd October from 12-6pm. This is to allow staff to attend the Celebration of Life event for Troy, hosted by The Remarkables Ski Patrol , up the Remarkables.

We appreciate that closing the gym on short notice can be tricky, and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We will be open as normal from 6-8pm, and would love to see your smiling faces there for a climb in the evening.

The Friday After School Climbing class has been cancelled, and you should have received an email if your child is in this class. No bookings are available for Clip 'n Climb on Friday.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you at the gym for a climb soon.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the passing of Troy Forsyth. Troy was a deeply integrated member of the climbing and skiing community and his loss is felt heavily by everyone who knew him. An active member of the Queenstown gym for many years, he brought light, humour and adventure into our little family, and his smile will be greatly missed from our walls, both indoors and out.

Our thoughts are with his friends and whānau at this time. Rest easy, Troy.

Arawata Terrace crag has plenty to challenge climbers of all levels. The Lower Tier has some great slab climbs for learning to lead and some routes with interesting moves. The Upper Tier has longer routes on quality schist with amazing views across Lake Whakatipu, not to mention the dominant prow feature for the more experienced climbers.

Once you've sussed out leading indoors, why not book onto one of our Transition to Outdoors Full Day courses and learn to become fully self sufficient at any single pitch sport crag? In Spring these are a special price of $299pp (min 3 pax).
