Life is full of transitions. Some we choose, some we don’t. e’yoga gives us a place to pause, breathe and reconnect with ourselves through all of them.
Not to stop change, but to meet it with a little more presence, clarity and compassion.
Because sometimes, we don’t need to hold it all together.
We just need an hour to breathe, move and be held. Kelly 🤍

A new season. A fresh start. A little reminder that things can change.
So maybe this spring, do something for you.
Not because you think you should.
Not because someone told you that you need to be fitter, more flexible, stronger or calmer.
Not because you have to keep up with anyone else.
And not because I’m offering some fancy “spring special”. 😂
Just because you deserve an hour to yourself.

The other day I was asked to write down 10 qualities about myself.
Not what I do.
Not that I’m a mother, a yoga teacher, an athlete, or someone who works in healthcare.
But 10 qualities that describe who I am as a person.
And I found it surprisingly hard.
Yet if a close friend asked me to name 10 qualities about them, I could probably rattle them off without hesitation.
Kind. Resilient. Compassionate. Loyal. Courageous. Strong. Thoughtful.
So why is it so much easier to believe these things about ourselves once someone else has said them first?
Someone tells us we’re kind ~ we believe it.
Someone tells us we’re strong ~ we own it.
Someone tells us we’re resilient ~ we accept it.
But what if nobody says it?
Does it become less true?
I don’t think it does.
I had to sit with this in stillness. To quiet the external noise and really listen to what was coming from within me.
This is one of the greatest gifts my 20+ years of yoga practice has given me.
Learning to become still enough to hear my own voice.
To listen.
To feel.
To trust.
And to know that I don’t need someone else to validate who I am.
So I’ll ask you the same question:
Can you name 10 qualities about yourself ~ not what you do, not what you achieve, but who you are?
And can you believe they’re true simply because you know they are?
Maybe we don’t need to think harder.
Maybe we just need to become still enough to hear ourselves. ❤️

Can you see yourself as clearly as you see others?
The other day I was asked to write down 10 qualities about myself.
Not things I do.
Not that I’m a mother.
Not that I’m a yoga teacher.
Not that I’ve worked in healthcare.
Not that I’m an athlete.
Not the roles I play or the things I’ve achieved.
But 10 qualities that describe who I am as a person.
And I found it surprisingly hard.
What really struck me was that if a close friend asked me to name 10 qualities about them, I could probably rattle them off without hesitation.
Kind.
Resilient.
Compassionate.
Loyal.
Courageous.
Funny.
Strong.
Thoughtful.
I can see those things in the people I love so easily.
But when it came to turning that same lens towards myself, there was this strange barrier.
And I started wondering…
Why do we find it so much easier to believe something about ourselves once someone else has said it first?
Someone tells us we’re kind - and we believe it.
Someone tells us we’re strong - and suddenly we can own it.
Someone tells us we’re resilient - and we accept that as part of who we are.
But what if nobody says it?
Does it become less true?
I don’t think it does.
And honestly, I couldn’t really answer this for myself until I stopped trying to find the answers in the outside world.
I had to sit in stillness.
To become quiet enough to actually listen.
To move beyond the external noise - the opinions, expectations, comparisons, labels and stories that can become so loud that we forget what our own voice sounds like.
This is one of the greatest gifts my yoga practice has given me over more than 20 years.
Yoga has taught me that stillness isn’t about having no thoughts.
It’s about creating enough space between the thoughts to notice what is actually coming from within me.
To listen.
To feel.
To trust.
And perhaps most importantly, to recognise that I don’t need someone else to tell me who I am before I am allowed to believe it.
Not arrogance.
Not ego.
Not thinking we’re better than anyone else.
Just being able to look honestly at ourselves and say:
This is who I am.
These are the qualities I carry.
And I know they’re true because I know myself.
So here’s my challenge for you:
Can you name 10 qualities about yourself- not what you do, not what you achieve, not who you are to other people -but qualities that belong to YOU?
And can you believe they’re true without needing anyone else to confirm them?
Maybe the answers aren’t found by thinking harder.
Maybe they’re found when we become still enough to hear ourselves.

“Embrace your uniqueness”
One of the many reasons I was inspired to become a yoga teacher was to encourage people to embrace and accept who they truly are.
After going through my teenage years feeling like I was never enough and constantly trying to be like everyone else, I eventually realised that the only person you can ever be is the very best version of yourself.
Every single human being on this planet is completely unique. How amazing is that?
That’s how one of e’yogas’ core philosophies was born: to create a space where you can let go of comparison, reconnect with yourself, and celebrate the person you already are.
The practice continues long after we roll up the mat and venture back into the world.
On the mat, we cultivate focus and calm, learning to quiet the distractions simply through our presence. But it’s when life throws the unexpected our way—a traffic jam, a computer glitch, or someone responding differently than we hoped—then we truly get to practise.
These everyday moments are our greatest teachers, inviting us to pause, breathe, and choose how we respond.
And in between it all, don’t forget to notice the beauty and simplicity around you… like a sunrise or a moonrise.
Can you tell which is which? 🌅🌕
