💡 HUGE NEWS FOR ISLAND BAY TENNIS! 🎾

Yesterday, Charlotte and Phil Bell presented the Island Bay tennis court lights proposal — and we’re thrilled to share that funding was approved! 🙌

This is a massive milestone for our club and means our court lighting project can now go ahead. What an exciting step forward for Island Bay Tennis and our wider community.

A huge thank you to Wellington City Council for supporting the project, and to all the club members over the years who have donated, fundraised, supported and believed in this vision. And thank you to our wider Island Bay community for getting behind us.

And, of course, a very special thank you to Charlotte Bell, who has spearheaded this project from the very beginning and led it on behalf of our club and community. This simply wouldn’t have happened without your dedication, persistence and passion. ❤️

Congrats to Khandallah tennis club as well, who were also successful in their upgrade project! Exciting times for Wellington tennis.

What a great Love Tennis Open Day!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along - we loved seeing the courts buzzing, meeting new faces and welcoming our wider community to the club.

And a very special thank you to all our amazing volunteers who helped make the day happen - we couldn't do it without each and every one of you, but especially Fiona Bawden who make sure the day was organised and smooth.

Thinking about joining? We'd love to have you! Whether you are picking up a racquet for the first time, getting back into tennis, or looking for a friendly club to call home, there's a place for you at Island Bay.

Come on down to Love Tennis on Sunday to meet our local physiotherapy clinic based right here in Island Bay.

Callum Law and his team will be hosting a special on-court injury prevention session - all are welcome!

Whether you're dealing with a persistent niggle, a new injury, or working your way back after surgery, their team is here to help get you back on court. All being tennis and squash players themselves, their physiotherapists understand the demands of your sport.

Pop in for one of our coaching sessions (kids or adults) with head coach Dave Knight, meet the local physio and here how they can help you play better and longer, and watch local teachers battle it out on court - school vs school.
