TRIYA Wellington Sailing School

We are very sad to report the passing of our founder, Arthur ‘Tup’ Radford. Tup set up our sailing academy in 2003 with the purpose of giving school aged students the opportunity to try sailing as a sport. Through Tup's generous support, TRIYA has given hundreds of boys and girls from the Wellington Region the opportunity to learn to sail and participate in school sailing, club sailing, individual and team regional, national and international competitions.

Learn To Sail registrations are now open for Term 4.

This is an amazing opportunity for students in Years 9 to 13 to learn to sail in Wellington harbour. Sessions are held weekly during Terms 1 and 4, and are based in Evans Bay.

It was wonderful to meet up with the team at the Eastern Suburbs Sports Trust this week, to express our heartfelt thanks for their recent grant. The trust, which is supported by New World Miramar and PAK'nSAVE Kilbirnie, have generously contributed towards the costs of replacement masts and equipment repairs at TRIYA. If you are at College (Year 9-13 students), this is your opportunity to start learning to sail!

Our programme is based on the Yachting New Zealand (YNZ) Level I and Level II LTS and is taught by YNZ qualified instructors. This programme runs after School, each week day during the summer terms (1 and 4) from 4-7pm.
