In the first week of the School holidays 21 students came together at Piritahi Marae on Waiheke Island from Avonside Girls' High School, Waitakere College, Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery, Tauraroa Area School, Waiheke High School, St. Kevin's College, St Dominic's Catholic College, Campion College, Gisborne, Ormiston Senior College and Edgewater College for the Maori Tourism Cultural Camp.

Rocket Labs CEO and former Competenz Engineering Apprentice Peter Beck has been appointed Adjunct Professor in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Auckland.

β€œStudying at university had been my intention from a young age, but I pursued an apprenticeship because I believed the skills I’d gain working hands-on with machinery would make me a better engineer.”
