Ulalei Wellington Sports Inc celebrates its 10th anniversary with another successful Pacific sevens tournament...officially opened by the mayor of Porirua city Lord mayor Nick Leggett, the event was well attended by the Pasifika community including..His Excellency the High Commissioner of Samoa, Leasi Papalii Scanlan, Manu Samoa sevens coach Damian McGrath, Rev ministers, former Manu Samoa players families and friends. Marist Wellington took top honours defeating 2015 champions Auckland Maroon 19-14 in the cup competition, Wainuiomata led by the legend Uale Ma'i took the plate competition and newcomer Hawkes Bay Samoa the Bowl competition...Ulalei also wishes to acknowledge it's partners in this annual development the Ministry of Social Development, "Family Violence, It's Not OK" Campaign, Pacific Health Lower Hutt, Porirua City Council, Weltec Petone, Wellington Rugby Union, Wellington Referee's, Capital Radio, the individual trophy donors; Laban, Scanlan and Tuisila families. Wishing everyone a prosperous 2016!
