Capital Swim Club

What a weekend we had! Kokoro Frost who trains with us has been busy competing for Samoa at the 2026 Oceania Aquatics Championships.

On Saturday, we had fun racing at the Raumati National Qualifier with a few first time competitors.

Finally, on Sunday, our swimmers got up on the podium at the PCA Novice Carnival. Let’s go Capital! 💙💛

Well done to all our swimmers who represented Capital at the Manawatū Champs over the weekend. A great start to this year’s racing!

We’re looking forward to stepping up again in just under two weeks time for the Wellington LC Champs!

This past weekend our 13&U boys represented Capital with pride at the Wellington Relay Champs. We took the win in both the freestyle and medley relays! Huge thanks to head coach Jon and Ruotong for supporting the team. Go Capital! 💙💛

Shoutout to our awesome team of juniors who smashed it at the Wellington Junior Champs this past weekend. Elliot, Benji, Jimmy, Jagger, Lila, Erina and Marcelo came away with lots of medals, PBs and big smiles! Capital finished as the 3rd-ranked club overall. Well done team! 💙💛

Massive congratulations to Imogen Waite and Noah Ireland-Spicer proudly represented Capital Swim Club at the National Short Course Championships. Both athletes delivered strong performances, showcasing their dedication and competitive edge!

A special mention to Noah, who broke two Wellington 18-year old records in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly. He also competed in the Open Final of the 50m Freestyle — a fantastic achievement that reflects his hard work and rising potential!

Hi all since my posts of last week about the return of 2 cups to Capital Swim , I have been swamped with others, some going back to the very start of Capital Swim Club itself or after the BGI was taken over by Capital .

In a week we have gone from an empty trophy cabinet unsure where they all are to a big step forward for Capital reflecting our proud past and the performance of earlier swimmers .

Coach Jon is finally back “home” at Capital Swim Club! 🏊‍♂️

He began last Monday with a simple yet meaningful pōwhiri from the Capital whānau. His primary goal is to restore and strengthen Capital’s mana — and we’re thrilled to have him here to help rebuild the club.
