We recently held the first ACOP (Approved Code of Practice) Workshop, formally commencing the refresh of the Code of Practice for Cranes.
This review has been consistently requested by industry. While we paused in anticipation of regulatory updates, it became clear that progress could not wait.
CANZ is now leading this work, in collaboration with MBIE and WorkSafe, to ensure the updated Code is:
✔️ Practical in application
✔️ Technically robust
✔️ Aligned with regulatory expectations
✔️ Delivering improved safety and clarity for industry
The first session saw strong engagement and constructive discussion from across the sector — a positive foundation for the work ahead.
This is an important step toward strengthening standards and supporting safe, consistent crane operations across New Zealand.
