Hello everyone, it's been a while but we still receive enquiries to this day about the amazing petting zoo and the kids parties. It clearly meant a lot to a lot of parents, kids and families. Maybe it might be time to reboot Lotsa Follies and bring it back to its full glory. It might take a few months and some hard work but getting ready for the summer season is more than achievable if the interest is out there. What do think, shall we reboot it and bring the fun back to the valley again ?

Dear Friends,
We hope you'll forgive us for posting again about a subject that we take very seriously: duck hunting.
You know that we do our best to raise and rehabilitate every orphaned, injured, or ill duck that comes into our facility, with the goal of wild release whenever possible.
Of course, an inescapable part of the rehabilitation process is that once the ducks we treat are healthy and flighted and wild-released, we have no control over what happens to them - life in the wild can be dangerous.
However, it's heartbreaking for us to consider that any of the beautiful and healthy birds we release could fall prey to an unnatural and preventable danger: hunting.
Not only are many ducks killed outright yearly by hunters in NZ, but unknown numbers are injured and left to suffer slow and painful deaths.
We therefore ask you to support the efforts of SAFE to institute an independent study of the impact of hunting on duck populations in NZ. This kind of study is crucial because there are currently no statistics quantifying the numbers of ducks maimed by hunters. These statistics can be an important tool in efforts to control - and hopefully ban - duck hunting in NZ.
Please look at the SAFE website for information about their efforts, and for suggestions for how you can help:
http://www.safe.org.nz/articles/210518/independent-review-needed-duck-shooting
And please share!
Because we know you love the ducks as much as we do! 💖

Animal lovers - **Update**
We just wanted to say a big thank you to those of you that have made contact with us, we have homes now for all the babies and the rehoming process will start today.
There has been some negative feedback though so i want to address any concerns some of you may have.
The first point is that we do not breed rabbits what so ever. Sometimes people will drop off their rabbits to us as they cant look after them themselves and other times we find rabbits have been put into our hutches without our knowledge - the babies we are trying to re home have come from these rabbits not our own rabbits. We are not a rabbit rehoming charity and we do not have the finances to desex other peoples rabbits that are dropped off. We agree that all rabbits should be desexed.
The second point is that although its not our responsibility we do take very good care of them and we are ensuring that they are going to good homes. Each property will be visited and assessed for suitability and we will give advise and any training the new owners may require. We don't charge for anything and we do all of this in our own time and at our own expense. We are taking rabbits from Tawa to Upper Hutt and even over to Martinborough. It would be easy to drop off the babies to a pet shop to sell on to whom ever but we are responsible animals lovers and are therefor doing the right thing by rehoming them properly.
The final point is that while i appreciate that everyone will have their own views i would encourage anyone with any concerns to call us direct or send a private message to express their views rather than using our general post as a platform to express their views when maybe not all of the facts have been understood.
Thanks for reading :)
Hello animal lovers, we have had a fair few baby rabbits recently and they need a good forever home and a great family to look after them. No charge but you must have a good hutch and be able to care for them properly ( training and advise given :) ). Please send a private message of your interested.
