Thanks to the people that came to our last Skate Collective session ever last night! Over and out.
SORRY - This group is no longer operating. The Skate Collective wass an accessible low-contact, low-commitment group of skaters in Wellington City.
All genders were welcome. We are no longer operating. We will be keeping the page so feel free to ask us a question. If you would like to contact The Skate Collective for more information please email [email protected].

That leaves us with only 2 sessions left the 11th June and our last session ever will be the 18th June 2017. A big thank you to all those that have supported us.

Ever feel like you are struggling with derby, physically? Or maybe it's running, or weightlifting, or yoga, or dance. "Why can't I do what she can?" "He makes it look so effortless!"
If only you were a bit stronger, a bit faster, more naturally athletic or graceful, you think. Maybe you have physical limitations - a weak ankle, rough shin splints, a bum knee. Or maybe things are just wearing down a bit, as things do.
If only you were healthier.
If only you were younger.
If only you could turn your defects into strengths.
Next time you think these thoughts (and let's face it, we all think them...)
Think about Puppyface instead.
Puppyface (très adorbs, we know!) is a 10-year-old jammer for Seacoast Roller Derby's junior league based in Dover, N.H.
She is also a double-amputee. She has two low-tech legs and no ankle or foot flexion. And she is our personal derby hero.
You'll never be a perfect version of yourself. But you can always be a better one.
