In my years as a stunt performer in New Zealand and abroad, I have spent a great deal of time training actors and extras so that they can perform their roles they have been cast in. My frustration is the limited time I have to help these artistes reach the best performance they can give. Not that they were not capable, but these skills can’t be taught in an afternoon, or picked up and perfected ov
er night. So countless times, I watch actors that had the drive and determination, unfortunately fall short of that polished end result. This is what I am here to amend with Combat for Camera. My name is Allan Smith and I have been working as a professional stuntman for over 15 years. I have a passion for martial arts, especially the ones that involve swordplay and other weaponry. Swordplay skills are greatly valued here in NZ as we constantly draw productions that incorporate this aspect of action: The Lord of the Rings, Xena, Hercules, The Chronicles of Narnia Legend of the Seeker, Spartacus and The Hobbit. Swordplay skills are not just required on New Zealand as some of the biggest and most successful film and television productions around the world reply on quality swordplay skills. What I am offering to you is courses designed to improve your skills as actors by giving you more tools to use.
