🌀Encourages lymph movement!! Unlike blood, lymph doesn’t have a central pump like the heart. Skeletal-muscle contractions and changes in pressure from movement and breathing help propel lymph through its vessels.
🌀Mobilises the thoracic spine through repeated gentle rotation where we move the mid-back through a range that we often lose from prolonged sitting and forward-facing activities e.g working at our desk.
🌀Activates your obliques and deep trunk muscles. Your obliques and other core muscles alternately contract and lengthen as you rotate, giving them low-level activation rather than simply stretching them.
🌀Loosens the rib cage and breathing muscles, allowing the ribs and thoracic spine to move can make the chest wall feel less restricted, particularly when you combine the twist with slow diaphragmatic breathing.
🌀Helps fluid circulation through the trunk, the alternating contraction/relaxation of skeletal muscle acts as an external pumping mechanism that can assist movement of lymph and interstitial (lymph) fluid.
🌀stand relaxed, knees soft, let your arms swing naturally, and rotate gently from the rib cage for 30–60 seconds while breathing slowly and deeply.. this simple movement is so easy to implement as a daily healthy habits xx
