We look forward to welcoming golfers from 17 Golf Clubs throughout the South Island to our links for this one.

Black Tee Grade ⬛ These are your big dogs folks - I'm gonna be honest, it's⚠️⚠️ for our Black tee course record which looks set to be obliterated. 2025 Champ Justin Brochocki is back and is naturally 1st off 1, he has 5 ➕golfers to contend with & a bloke from Hokitika Golf who loves setting course records also - Given the majority of players will not have teed it up on our ⬛ course we're set for a hell of a line honours battle.

Blue Tee Grade 🔵 These gents are the heart & soul of any event to be honest, birdies, snowmen, mooses, beers & banter in this grade folks 🦃☃️🦬🍻 - Playing stablefords for the big 💰- great field. Thanks to the lot of you !

Yellow Tee Grade 🌼 Our ladies. A huge thanks to you all for coming, a really important part of the golf community, Yep we'd love a few more, but hey we're super grateful for those that are coming - It means a lot to us 🙏

Westport Golf Club has always been passionate about providing a wonderful place of camaraderie, connection with community & a place for visitors from afar to feel welcomed.
Over the years coal minings contribution to this has been so profound, and continues to be so. 26% of our members are either actively employed in the coal mining industry (15.9%) or ex employees/retirees (10.1%). Alongside this an incredible 32.3% of our U18 Junior members have parents employed within the coal mining industry.
Just as our Golf club continues to thrive & flourish, we need our community too also - We know our future is bigger than any one industry and we want it to grow and diversify, We also know this takes time and the Bathurst Resources Continuation project provides that essential opportunity to build and diversify our future.

So far: 79% live in Buller (60% in Westport itself). Of the 17% signing from outside the Coast, 92% are former residents or have family here. 80 business owners signed and 56 are happy to be contacted for comment. 334 comments are cleared for public use (172 with names).

43 years ago (26.03.1983) a young Debbie Smith playing off +1 set a Westport GOLF CLUB ladies course record with a magnificent 70 featuring 5 birds & 3 bogeys, birds on 13, 14, 17, 18 as she came home on 🔥🔥
Well - 43 years or 15,854 days later she was back again to rip the place up and reset the record book ! 6 birds and 2 bogeys for a new course record 6️⃣8️⃣🔥🔥How damn good and what a Tasman Golf legend 👏👏 congrats Debbie - simply outstanding
