Congratulations to Neil Johnson, from Waikanae, defeating Travis Clive-Griffin of Wairarapa 2/1 in the final
of the 2026 Wanganui East ‘Clubman’ Championship.
As the winner, Neil receives an invitation to compete in next year’s premier event, the 2027 AG Challenge Tournament.
The division winners were:

Plate Winner: Chris Jackson of Wairarapa
Consolation Winner: Paul Charles of Wanganui
The Clubman, was a resounding success, marked by excellent camaraderie among its participants on and off the table.

The RiverCity Women’s Invitational Snooker Competition took place over the weekend, at the Wanganui East Club.
The competition featured a field of 14 competitors from around the North Island.
This Women’s Competition was added to the Cue Sport Wanganui calendar to promote women's participation in cue sports in New Zealand, providing a competitive environment for players to develop their skills.

Congratulations to Agnes Kimura of Taranaki, winner of this year’s River City Women’s Invitational Snooker Competition.
Other section winners were
Flight – Sola Luafale of Petone
Plate – Jazmin Brown of Waikanae, also achieving the highest break for the competition (30).
Consolation – Flynn Pearse of Greytown
The weekend was a resounding success, marked by excellent camaraderie among participants both on and off the table.
Coming up this weekend, we have a very strong class of 24 premium players competing in the AG Challenge Tournament, starting on Friday night and playing thought the weekend. Come and see some great cueing and enjoy the environment at the Wanganui East club.
More action to follow at the end of the month, our third snooker competition, the Clubman Championship, 28 February – 1 March 2026. 24 players from around the North Island competing in this club event.

Final results for the South Taranaki Club Open Singles. Well done to the two Wanganui East Club players Matiu Williams for winning the championship flight and Donna Archer for qualifying quarter finalist in the plate section.
