Y1-4 Hockey CANCELLED today! Although it's relatively dry at the moment, there's more rain scheduled for this afternoon, and due to be getting heavier just as we start playing. In light of this, we're going to make the call to cancel, so travelling teams don't waste fuel. Stay dry!

Good luck to all our hockey players who have competition matches today and tomorrow. For those looking to play some local hockey here in Whanganui this sunny Saturday, we have adult matches at our turf in Gonville at 2:30 and 4pm. All secondary-aged players and older are welcome!

In other news, I've received a few communications about lost property recently, which I'd like to share with our community here to broaden the search:

First, we've had a couple of items of warm clothing go missing, including a black Hockey Wanganui hoody with the initials CF on the sleeve, and a black Champion vest pictured below. Both items were left in the dugouts after training/matches and have since disappeared. Please get in touch if you might have seen them, or picked them up by mistake. They are both named and highly valued by their owners!

Second, Collegians Women's Hockey Club have lost a couple of face masks that were left behind the goal at Gonville in a recent Tuesday-league match. These masks are named, so please check your team masks and get in touch if you have seen them.

It is really frustrating that we have had these items go missing recently. Unfortunately, despite being fenced and locked, our site is not that secure after hours, so please check that you take all your belongings with you when you leave, and if you do spot something lying around please hand it in, so we can keep it locked safely inside until it is reclaimed. Thanks!

Happy Friday All! We're pretty excited about the start of local Saturday hockey here at the McDonalds Whanganui Hockey Stadium off Alma Road in Gonville TOMORROW afternoon! 🥳🤩

If you've not registered, but would still like to take part in some local hockey here on Saturdays it's not too late! It's open to all players from secondary age up, and it aims to provide opportunities at a social/developmental level with a community focus.
