Forgot I took these videos the other day having lunch up the top of the hill.
The bay fillies will be for sale in spring.
Enchanting Fern rising 3yrs, Enchanting Hope. Rising 2years.
Both have the same mother Ruby, a Gisbourne bred mare with a good temperament and is a good jumper.
Their sire is our imported Fell stallion Drybarrows Amadeus.
I thought they might make good hunters theyd look great together, nearly a matched pair.

Ivy is the foal who's mother was very sick with placentitis an infection of the placenta when she was born
While mum was sick, she needed bottle feeding every 2 hours, so I moved her to my other property the Stockmans Rest at Fordell.
Their survival is a miracle and testament to the hardiness of the Fell horse.
I look forward to seeing her learn how to navigate these hills, and buddy up with the other horses.

Horses had a visitor yesterday.
Delightful Diva (on the left) a Hanovarian Fell cross. Hasnt found her forever home yet, yet she's filled out and looking stunning. The foals are ready to wean. Winters coming.

This is the first Fell I bred in NZ. He's 6 now.
Enchanting Mr Star is a Fell Gypsy cross. His Dam is our Loulou his sire is The Gypsy Star of Brackenhill.
Star found the best of homes as youngster with a lovely lady from North Taranaki. She trained him, and named him Lorenzo.
He has since been acquired, horse rustled, borrowed or ?
by her granddaughter who teaches children to ride. (I love this bit! 😍😍😍)

This is his first hunter jumping competition. He completed a clear round and this young lad hopes to hunt him this season.
Although apparently everyone wants to ride him, I wonder why?? 💘
