Museum and Archives Newsletter
The July 2026 Whanganui Collegiate School Museum & Archives Newsletter is now available online, featuring historical milestones, recent acquisitions, and alumni stories. Highlights include WWI veteran Maurice G. Luxford’s Military Cross, the 100th Quadrangular Rugby Tournament, Simon Dickie’s induction into the Whanganui Sports Hall of Fame, new donations like Crimean War surgical gear, and look-back archives spanning from 1901 to 2001.

Hockey Girls 1st XI Intercity Final - Thursday 13 August, 5.30pm.
To our Old Boys and Girls in Manawatu come along to the Twin Turfs and support our team!
Our WCS 1st XI Girls Hockey team is heading to the Intercity Finals this coming Thursday! Game to be played at the Twin Turfs, Palmerston North, 5.30pm start. Please come along and cheer on our team!

Rugby 1st XV finals weekend in the CNI. To our Taupo Old Boys and Girls come along and support our team.
Game of three halves kick off at 12.00pm at Owen Delany Park, Taupo.
Game of three halves in Taupo for us after St John’s Hastings have unfortunately had to pull out due to sickness.
Big thank you to both FDMC and Matamata College for being flexible and changing their plans to include us in this updated format. Also to the CNI conveners for their organisation and solutions at such late notice.
We play FDMC first for 35 mins, sit down while FDMC play Matamata and the finish with 35mins against Matamata.

This evening Old Boy Max Attwell is competing in the Decathlon at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

This morning at 7.50am Old Boy Geordie Beamish will compete in the 3000m Steeplechase at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Aftermatch Function will follow the last game, all supporters and visitors are warmly invited to join us in the Izard Centre for refreshments and food.

Quadrangular Rugby Tournament History - 2010s
In the 2010s Wellington College continued to dominate winning consecutively from 2003-2014.
WCS made the final in 2018 and again in 2019, with a very close final on a windy wet day in Wellington losing a tight game 7-13.

If you are coming to the 100th Quadrangular Rugby Tournament and not going to the Quad Black-Tie Gala Dinner and looking for somewhere to meet up with your WCS mates.
The WCSOBGA have booked the back room at Frank Bar, Ridgway Street from 5.30pm. Bar and dining available.
