It’s the last week of indoor hockey for the summer this week.

Monday:

5.30 - year 4-6
6.30 - year 7&8
7.30 - year 9-13

Tuesday:

6pm - year 9 - adult.

Can you please check if your fee’s have been paid - lots of fees for Term One remain unpaid so paying them now will reduce volunteer workload in paying them.

Indoor Hockey this week - there is no session on Tuesday. If you normally come on Tuesday, you can join in on Monday at 7:30 either this week or next week. Please pay your fees into our indoor account if you haven't done so already.

Welcome to our indoor hockey programme for Term One 2026.

Club Nights - now Mondays and Tuesdays, with the introduction of our new adults session. Each week we will have a training component followed by a game (or games).

Starts Monday 9th Feb or Tuesday 10 Feb and runs for 7-8 weeks.

Sessions are at Te Kamo High School Gymnasium:

Mondays:
Year 4-6: 5.30 - 6.30pm
Year 7&8: 6.30 - 7.30pm
Year 9-13: 7.30 - 8.30pm

Tuesdays:
Year 9-13: 6pm - 7pm
Adults: 7pm - 8pm

Cost: $60 for 7-8 weeks, paid to our Northern Kauri Indoor Hockey Club - bank account details in the registration process.

We are also looking to bring back our open grade Sunday competition - details to follow.

Also we are looking forward to the return of our open grade competition nights.

What a day!!

Our girls were pumped for the final, and looked great in pre-game.

First quarter we were outgunned by Wellington, going 2-0 down at the break.

Second quarter was very even, they converted, we didn’t.

Third quarter was not our best hockey, we could not score!

Going in to last quarter we were down five goals to nil, a seemingly insurmountable challenge.

Our girls never give up, and the last quarter was magic!!

We took off Bella, our goalie, for most of the last quarter. The girls 🔥 FIRED UP and scored four quick goals to Wellington’s one goal, leaving the score at 6-4 to Wellington. We hadn’t given up and managed a fifth goal just as the clock was running out. Final score 6-5 loss, but a sense of triumph at our incredible last quarter performance, scoring five goals to their one.

Our fantastic team receiced silver medals today, to go with the gold medals that six of our girls and coach Sandra received in December at U16s.

Our team is very young, with every member eligible for U18s next Summer, and nine out of 11 in U14s or U16 age group this summer.

We are incredibly proud of these young ladies.

The future is looking bright!

Today our Northern Kauri U18 women are in the FINAL of the U18 Indoor Hockey Champs in Taupo. Coaches Logan and Sandra, along with our team management, are so proud of these young ladies and what they have achieved.

Our Results so far:

Game 1 vs Wellington - 7-4 loss
Game 2 vs Bay of Plenty - 5-1 win
Game 3 vs North Harbour - 4-2 win
Game 4 vs Waikato - 3-3 draw.

Today we play at 12.40 at the Taupo Events Centre against the favoured Wellington team. We go into this game as the underdogs, having been ranked 4th going into the tournament. Girls are excited and will do their best to represent us well.
