Pickleball Whangārei – Has an Exciting New Subscription Structure!

We’re excited to announce a new annual subscription structure for Pickleball Whangārei, designed to make playing pickleball more accessible, flexible and sustainable for our growing community.

The new structure is available now for anyone without an existing subscription. If you hold a current subscription it will expire on 30th September. You can then use this new one.

This change would not have been possible without the time, energy and commitment of our amazing pickleball volunteers.

Over the past four years, volunteers have worked behind the scenes and on the courts to help grow pickleball in Whangārei . Organising sessions, welcoming new players, managing bookings, answering questions, setting up and packing down, making changes to make the game more accessible, promoting events and, most importantly, creating a friendly and inclusive community.

Thanks to the Northland Badminton Association for their continued cooperation and support. Their willingness to work with us has helped provide one of the largest facilities with affordable fee structures so that the Northland Community can come and play Pickleball.

🏓 A SIMPLE, FLEXIBLE WAY TO PLAY

Adults 19+
💙 $100 annual base subscription

Youth 11–18 years
💚 $50 annual base subscription

Everyone
🟡 $2 per session in addition to the annual subscription

Casual players with a venue Hello Club profile
💛 $8 per session

Visitors and guests with no venue Hello Club profile - $10 per session.

To keep our sessions manageable, everyone must prebook via Hello Club. As we regularly run at capacity, we ask that if you can no longer attend, you cancel in Hello Club. This allows someone else to book in and play.

If you have a Hello Club profile (as a $2 per session subscription holder or an $8 casual player) and cancel at least 1 hour before the scheduled start time, you will receive an account credit for the session payment you made.

Cancellations less than an hour before the session start time will forfeit their fee.

Visitors/guests without a Hello Club profile who pay $10, are not entitled to a refund.

It’s wonderful to see so many people enjoying Pickleball. The growing demand continues, so we are going to trial Fun Sunday Pickleball. A Four-Week Trial – Starting this Sunday 30th August 10:00am – 12:00pm

Location - Northland Badminton Association - 41 Porowini Avenue.
Players of all abilities can attend, from ages 11 to 99.
With six courts, we can accommodate 24 players at a time. Games will be timed to 15 minutes. The event is limited to 36 players, so game allocation will be approx 2 out of 3. A total of around 5 or 6 games.
Costs per session
If you are an existing player and hold a subscription - $2 a session
If you have an Hello Club profile $8
No cash accepted.
Everyone who wants to play must book in. Create a profile at https://northlandbadminton.helloclub.com/login, then make a booking and pay online.

Important Booking Information - If the booking no longer suits you, please cancel as soon as possible to allow another player to attend. You will be given an account credit to use another time, provided you cancel 1 hour before the event starts.

Wow, thank you so much for the incredible response! Our 5:30pm – 7:00pm Beginners & Improvers session for tonight is now completely full.

We are sincerely sorry to anyone who missed out on a spot this evening.

🔄 Plans Changed? Please Cancel!

If you currently have a spot secured for the 5:30pm session but your plans have changed and you can no longer make it, please cancel your booking as soon as possible. This frees up the slot for another player who is eager to hit the court!

⚖️ Why Pre-Booking via Hello Club is Essential
We want to take a moment to emphasize why we require everyone to book ahead through Hello Club. Our ultimate goal is to ensure a high-quality experience where every single attendee gets a minimum of 5 games per session.

To keep games flowing and minimize sitting-out time, we have to cap our session numbers. We truly appreciate your cooperation and understanding in using the booking system to keep things fair and fun for everyone.

We will be playing on the upcoming Public Holiday. Matariki - Friday 10th July 10am till Noon. Please book in as numbers are limited.

This event is for players who can keep a rally going and score points. Intermediate to advanced level. Casual fees are $8 a session if you don't have a valid subscription.

How to add the Hello Club booking application to your Phone. This makes it a lot easier to book in to play!

Hello club has a progressive web app (PWA) which is fully mobile compatible.

Login to your Hello Club profile on your phone or tablet

Click on your avatar in the top right corner of the screen.

In the menu that pops up, look for the Add Hello Club to home screen button:

Click this, and your device will ask you to confirm that you want to add Hello Club to your home screen. Follow the prompts and you should see the Hello Club icon appear on your device shortly.

If the button isn’t showing it may be because browsers have specific rules around when you are able to install a progressive web app to your home screen. One of the rules is that you need to visit the site twice, with at least 5 minutes in between the two visits. So come back later, go through the set up again and the button should appear at that stage.

If you still don’t see the button, you can try to empty your browser cache and cookies and then refresh the app again, which should prompt the button to appear.

Adding the app to the home screen on iPhone or iPad - you can also try the following method:

Launch Safari on your ‌iPhone‌ or ‌iPad‌.

Navigate to the Hello Club web app.

Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen.

Scroll down to the list of actions and tap Add to Home Screen.

If you don't see the action, scroll to the bottom and tap Edit Actions, then tap Add next to the Add to Home Screen action. After that, you'll be able to select it from the share options.

Type a name for the app link, e.g. Hello Club.

Tap Add in the top-right corner of the screen.

Do you know you can book a private court at Northland Badminton so you can play pickleball at a time that suits you all?

Well, you can via your Hello Club app. Sign in and go to bookings. Today's date will appear and you can use the > key to find the date you want to play. If you are on a phone you will only see one court at a time, so again use the > key to see alternative courts.

Find the date, the court, and the time you want to play. The available booking slots are in 30-minute sections so you will have to pick two timeslots if you want an hour.
Please avoid playing directly next to a booked badminton game, as the ball frequently on their court can be annoying.😖

One person can pay online at the time of booking or if there is credit on their account those funds can be used to pay. You will be issued with a code for the door entry.

Court Fees are $20 an hour.

You will need to know how to change the net height and reset it at the end of the session. (We can show you at a public session). We prefer you to use your own paddles and balls, but if you need to borrow them - ask us where to find them.

So why not get together with the people you enjoy playing with, have an hour or even two of continuous play with no time off.
