Props such as blocks, bolsters, and blankets are used in an educational and supportive way. Prices:

Viparita Karani is not simply "legs up the wall." It is a carefully constructed restorative inversion where every prop has a purpose.
The pelvis is supported higher than the shoulders while the dorsal spine, rib cage and sternum are precisely positioned to lift and broaden the chest. This arrangement creates space across the diaphragm, softens the throat and facial muscles, and allows the breath to become quiet, smooth and effortless. Without this precise support, the chest collapses, the diaphragm is restricted, and many of the therapeutic effects of the pose are diminished.
Practised with correct alignment, Viparita Karani relieves fatigue, improves venous return and lymphatic drainage, settles the nervous system, and provides an ideal preparation for pranayama by establishing a receptive body and an unobstructed breath.
