Happy Father’s Day to all our club members, past and present! 💙

Today is all about celebrating the dads, grandads and father figures who do so much for our club and our community.

If you’re out and about, why not pop into Z Energy Kensington, shout Dad a coffee, and while you’re there, grab an orange token from the counter and pop it into the ReSport Charitable Trust voting bin. Every vote helps support getting more sports gear into the hands of Northlanders who need it most. 🧡

Have a fantastic Father’s Day, everyone! ☕🏏

We’ve got some incredible, loyal club members, and this crew is the perfect example of what makes our club special.

Pictured are Sean Lynch, Sharlene Nelson, Derek & Renee Marais, Natalie Gallagher, Mike & Zac Laing, Henry & HB Ebing, Robyn McKegg, Kirin Hare, Pete Bone, Clare Fleming, Brendan & Liam Oakden, Paul Hauraki, and Theo Schuitemaker.

Over the past few years, these legends and other members have volunteered their time as part of our club’s fundraising efforts, setting up all the perimeter signage at every Northland Rugby NPC match’s at Semenoff Stadium, then packing it all down and storing it away after the final whistle.

It’s a big job, done effectively and consistently, and it’s a great example of what can be achieved through collaboration. A big thank you to Northland Rugby Union and Semenoff Stadium for the opportunity. We’re proud to play a small part in helping make game day happen.

The club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held last night, with a great mix of current members, club stalwarts and several of our Life Members in attendance.

The meeting was expertly coordinated by Sharlene Nelson and well led and chaired by President Brad Lang, with Club Captain Sean Lynch looking ahead with plenty of enthusiasm to the season ahead.

It was great to hear from the various key leads within the club’s executive and the initiatives and activities planned for the coming season, including reports from Brad Lang, Martin Kimber (Treasurer’s Report), Peter Bone (Senior Managers Report), Derek Marais (Reserves Managers Report) and Scotty Delemare (Junior Report).

A couple of photos from the evening feature some of our club stalwarts Colin Marshall, Des Thomsen, Joey Yovich, Alan McKenzie, Brett Robinson, Marty Kimber in attendance at our clubrooms — including a great shot of Joey, Brett and Colin at the Judge House of Ale afterwards with the iconic Ranfurly Shield, which landed back in Northland yesterday.

The Log of Wood is now on the line next weekend, with our neighbouring friends at Semenoff Stadium set to host the next chapter. What a time for Northland sport!

Here’s to another fun, successful and enjoyable season for our club and, of course, another Ranfurly Shield victory next week!

Bring it on! 🩵🏏🛡️

Great to see club players connecting with one another when they’re in the same area or, in this case, the same country outside New Zealand. 🏏🌍

Pictured are Ryan Jenner, who took the opportunity to catch up with Callum Nicholls and Alex Horton at the Glamorgan Cricket County v Durham County List A one-day match at South North Cricket Club. Both Callum and Alex played for our club during the 2024/25 season. The fixture also featured England international Ben Stokes, who was playing for Durham.

Ryan is enjoying a successful season as an overseas player for Ashington Rugby Cricket Club in the Northumberland and Tyne League, competing in the second division.

Great to see the club connections continuing well beyond New Zealand! 👏

The new season is almost here… and the recruiting is well underway, with some of our well-connected club members working hard behind the scenes! 👀🏏🧢

Over the years, our club has been lucky enough to have some well-known characters, top-class sportsmen and talented sportswomen pull on the club colours.

So, the big question is… WHO’S NEXT? 🤔

👇 Drop your guess in the comments! Let’s see who’s got the inside word…

Nice work Callum Nicholls…. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Callum Nicholls top-scored with 70 runs as Glamorgan secured a last-ball win over Worcestershire in the One Day Cup 👏

It was Nicholls’ first half-century for the first team 🏏
