Today is Earth Day and it may be difficult for many of us to even think about this special day as a global pandemic continues to affect everyone; however, this may be the best time to think about our Earth. Currently, most of us realize more than ever how important it is to stay connected to family and friends, but this is also when we can more closely examine our connection to nature. As surfers, our ocean is precious to us and, being that most of us are under some form of “lockdown”, we are even more aware how much our environment means to us. This is the time that we can use to reflect on what we consume and how it impacts our personal health and the health of our environment. We should be asking ourselves how we can have a positive impact as a surfer and as a person in the global community.
There may never be another moment like this when we are able to truly take stock of our behaviors and habits like what we eat, what we purchase, and how we interact with our fragile environment. This year’s theme for Earth Day is “climate action.” Let’s do our part by traveling smarter, reducing our energy use, and being more conscious of our “foodprint.” One of the easiest ways to make an immediate impact is to curtail our use of single use plastic.
Lastly, due to these uncertain times, we are incredibly disconnected in so many ways right now, but as surfers, let’s recognize that our connection to the ocean and our environment is necessary for the well-being of everyone’s future. Be safe, be healthy, and be positive! See you in the water soon!

LEARN TO SURF IN OMAN SURF SCHOOL

- Learn the basics of surfing
- Be able to catch white and green waves on a regular basis
- Become comfortable in safe surf spot

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

*This course is for you that have never surfed before, or that haven’t surfed for a while and want to go through the basics one more time. We’ll give you a fun and encouraging introduction to surfing, and share the stoke when you catch your very first white water waves. Our experienced instructors will make sure that you develop your skills in line with your level and that you’ll catch as many waves possible. It’s all about having fun together.
WHAT WILL I BE LEARNING?

*We’ll go through the very basic theory and techniques of surfing and teach you everything from how to carry your board to how to catch waves. The goal of our experienced instructors is to create an encouraging environment where you learn as much as possible during the course. The goal of the course is that you’re able to surf In white and green waves all by yourself.

WHAT KIND OF WAVES WILL I BE SURFING?

*You’ll be surfing easy waves on surrounding sand beaches and easy reef breaks where you’ll have a safe and comfortable experience when you explore the waves for the first time. Our instructors will pick the best part of the beach where you will be able to catch the most white water wash and broken waves and have as much fun as possible.
