The 79th 🇮🇳 Senior National Aquatic Championship’s (The Indian Commonwealth Trials) are taking place from 16-21 June in Ahmedabad, India. Nitishsai will be there, racing alongside India’s fastest swimmers!

A fantastic competition at the Summer Champs. Masses of pbs and lots of medals too! A brilliant end of season meet!

New club records for:

Tom Dean - 15-16yrs 100m backstroke (56.26)
Kristofers Kagis - Age 9-10 yrs 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle, and 50m butterfly!

Nitishsai just missed his pb in the 50m freestyle but his time at ABA of 23.10 ranks him 5th in GB for his age too!

We had a brilliant ‘End of Year’ celebration evening at the last week.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported the event and who has helped make this season (thus far…!) so fantastic! We have so much to be proud of!

In the few years that she has been with us, Hannah has gone from someone not comfortable in the water to, just yesterday, completing the annual 4km Fahal swim.

A truly inspiring story, especially for anyone thinking of giving swimming a go! 🏊‍♀️

A huge thank you to the organisers of the Fahal Island Swim for another incredible event.

Congratulations to every swimmer who completed the challenging 4km distance. The conditions were tough, with strong currents adding around 20 minutes to many swimmers’ predicted finish times - making every finish even more impressive! 💪

A special shoutout to all of our BSM Marlins students, staff and parents who took part by swimming, kayaking and volunteering throughout the day.

Some great results for the Marlins over the past couple of weeks!

* Loads of pbs and medals at the 1st Oman Women’s Championships.
* An equally huge amount of medals at ABA at their Graded meet…plus club records for Rihards and Kristofers!
* Long course pbs for our five swimmers who competed in Dubai last week, plus medals for Dylan and Rihards
* A 🇬🇧 National Qualifying time for Tom for the British Age Group Champs in the summer!

You may have heard this story a few weeks ago, about a young boy in Australia, who swam for four hours and at a distance of 4km (two nautical miles) in rough, dark and shark-infested waters to help save his family who had been swept far out to sea during a typical day at the beach.

Against all odds, 13 year old Austin Appelbee, did the impossible and managed to rescue his family that night.
It just goes to show how important being able to swim is. It’s not just for competitions, or for simple exercise - as great as they are - but this is a real life-saving skill and you never know when you may need it in your life!

The BSM Marlins Swim School can help you improve your technique or simply teach you how to swim.

Our Marlins legend, Henry Baker, competed at The British Commonwealth Trials last week with seasons best times in all three events (100m Free, 200m Free & 400m Free).

Over the last ten years, he has achieved some incredible accolades, including winning National titles, qualifying for the British Championships ever year since 2019, and making the British team at the European Junior Championships.

Henry has suggested that this may have been the final event of his career, and so we thank him for all that he has given to our club. 🏆💪🏼
